Default Keeping The Bugeye Alive - My 02

Hello NASIOC!

Actually kind of mad at myself for not starting a build thread when I first got the car but I will make a few rundowns so I can still have somewhat of a log and a history to look back on for myself and or others. I also want to my posts to help out anyone looking to accomplish some of the same things that I have done. Anyways...

Be patient as the big boy stuff comes later!

Bought the car August 13, 2012 with 122k:

Was searching for 3 months before deciding to give up and then that day I saw literally a two lined description with no pictures and it was local. Only downside? 4EAT. Who needs a third pedal anyway? I picked it up for what I thought was a great price and it was the perfect color combo I wanted.

100k service was not done. Timing belt, water pump, all the hooplas done.
Reading for hours and hours accumulating to days, first thing ordered was a Grimmspeed uppipe so that I could get rid of the cat in my uppipe so the baby excuse of a turbo doesn't get grenaded.

Here's a pic of this work of art (Thanks Grimmspeed!)

I have never worked on a car before this but as of now, I feel so seriously mechanically inclined to do anything now and I LOVE IT.

Get to opening up those downpipe bolts to start, and they were so rusted I swear i used so much PB Blaster to break those loose. One was completely stripped and I had to sit there and cut it off with a hand saw. Noob here doesn't have compressor or air tools

Once installed with new gaskets I felt like I could do anything. HERE COMES THE MOD BUG lol

I'll have to dig my sheet up, but we kept it at conservative tune with 17psi and made just under 250. Obviously the biggest power dropper being the Torque Converter in the 4EAT. IIRC Lance said a manual most likely would have put down 280ish in a manual.
