Thanks. Mike asked me if I want to push it further as my logs still looked great. We agreed to leave it safe and solid. He will take care of the slight dip at 4500 rpm and the gear indicator being off. I know he was at a disadvantage not being able to see a dyno plot until now. That is why I prefer a dyno tune and I know many will disagree.

The guy running the dyno tunes mostly EJs and a ton of EVOs. He told me he didn't see anything he would improve on the quality of the tune.

No kill map yet haha

Get some miles on it make sure it's solid then have him turn it up. Curious to see where you end up with that prototype Blouch turbo.

I think we are at a disadvantage to the stock motor guys as our compression ratio is lower. 10:1 on your setup right? I think from what I calculated I'm probably closer to 9.6-9.7:1 wish I would have gone > 10.6:1 now.

Gary Bains? I have heard good things from the EVO crowd about him but idk anyone with an FA tuned by him.

Quick update: We tried a bit more boost and timing. Hit the MAF limitation. Added timing to previous tune.

Unless I am told otherwise, pretty sure this is about it.

If I want more boost, I need a bigger intake.

ETS makes a 4" intake for their turbo kit, could try that route.

Iím using the ETS 3.5 inch intake from their turbo kit with the stx71 setup... this was the only way I could get passed the intake limitation...

@ KB...I am using a grimmspeed 3" intake.

I didn't know ETS had a 3.5" intake. I did see a 4" that was optional with a turbo kit (thanks gn4rwhals). Couldn't see good enough pictures.

Verry happy with this Blouch turbo and not sure if I want to push it any further. I know Blouch makes a great product but what would be the lifetime at 24psi vs 26psi? Mike at Blouch said it should do between 24 and 26 PSI on E60 and up to 27 PSI on E70+.

IIRC, Mikey told me an E55 mix could be used long term. For easy math, I will be running 1/2 & 1/2, so E47. He also said I should keep it below 20PSI if I am on the track (separate map).

My builder/installer (AA Motorworks) and the dyno operator (Gary Bains...EVO tuner) are both telling me not to d!ck with it.

I hope I can listen to voices of reason, enjoy the car, and put the $$ toward repairs/maintenance as I want regular seat time with my car.

No speed density on the DIT. Iím sure eventually it will come around. With the ability for FTCL itís not nearly as important as it used to be on the EJ.

Finally got tuned after months of running an OTS tune.

Cobb catback
California 91 octane

Protuned by Ron Watson/Phatbotti tuning putting down a healthy 278whp/309wtq.

^^ meh, I dunno. To be honest, I was pretty content with the power the car had stock. I just wanted more driveability. Not too keen on making the car any louder either. We'll see when I start itching for more power

Note: Theshopct owner Jimmy told me stock WRX make about 180whp on this dyno. My guess is Iím somewhere around 320-330 whp on a dynojet based on similar mods and tuned by botti elsewhere.
