Default 2015 Intake or CARB sticker

Hey everyone,

After 2 moves across 2 states over 5 years, I suddenly can't find my OEM air intake assembly. It's always been in the garage, in case I needed it... and now that I need it, I can't find it!

I have a CARB legal Mishimoto intake, but never put the sticker on. The smog tech said as long as I have the physical sticker in my hand, he will smog it.

Can I borrow someone's Misihimoto Performance Air Intake CARB sticker for a day? P/N MMAI-WRX-15

Or, can I borrow someone's OEM intake assembly for a day?

Is only needing the sticker in hand a common thing, or does it usually have to be on the car?

At the place I went, he said he just needed me to have it with me and it didn't have to be attached because they check and verify everything anyway. This guy probably knew a thing or two about aftermarket intakes. I live in CA state capital. Ymmv, definitely ask first.

Yes, they mailed it out pretty quickly, only took a couple of days. It was a little envelope so I didn't expect it to take too long, I was just rushing because I had a bunch of different things happening and lined up around this smog test.

the tech is lazy, all he had to do is look on the internet, but it is probably better that you have the sticker on your car just in case you get pulled over and they decide to look under your hoood, which by law you dont have to pop your hood, unless they have probable cause. Alot of the shog techs arent mechanics so most are scared to pass something that doesnt look stock. The state does send out undercover cars to the smog stations to make sure they are doing their job right.

So funny story. out this way there was an undercover car that was know it had the pcv disconnected, so if it was passed, the state would know right away and the tech would have his license suspended and the shop would loose its star status. So what the state decided to do is they fixed the pcv so it should pass with no problems right, so they sent the car to the smog station, the tech recognized the car and he failed it with out really looking at the problem. Well when he failed it, the state knew what happened and they tech ended up loosing his license for not passing a car that should have passed
