Here we go again. Why don’t you tell HIM how HE should have installed HIS cluster so that HE is satisfied with the QUALITY or DESIGN of HIS cluster?

What happened to people forming their opinions about products and then rating their opinion of it? He said multiple times that he didn’t feel he liked the product and not that he didn’t know how to install it. Read. Comprehend. Then comment man.

I’d also try refraining on posting as though you were there and knew what happened, what he was thinking, and what he was doing. It makes you come off as pretentious and knowing all. Just saying.

Even IF he installed it incorrectly, can’t he review and say he didn’t like how it installed or wasn’t happy how complicated it was without being put down as if it’s his fault for not being satisfied? Even IF... because that’s not what happened. He installed it correctly just didn’t care for the product.

Personally I’d have contested it with my credit card and declined payment. Then they can block me from posting all they want when I have my money back/am whole again.

I don't entirely disagree with you, but you're missing the point that we all do comprehend the fact that this gauge cluster has literature that specifically said that the gauges the OP was using do not fit properly since they are too shallow and that other solutions may be required other than what is provided in the box. Anyone who does any amount of their own work on their vehicle knows that this is not exactly uncommon with aftermarket parts given the wide variety of manufacturers and designs. You can't expect one gauge pod to fit every single gauge out there on the market, it's not a practical expectation at all.

Yes I agree that you should be able to post a review if you don't particularly like a product. But you also can't slander the crap out of it just because it was incompatible with a gauge you chose. That's not a problem with the product, the manufacturer never guaranteed it would fit all gauges. Based on the content of the OP's posts on this thread, I do doubt whether the review they sent to RSD was constructive at all which makes it even less likely that RSD would be willing to post it. Rather than posting a negative review for an issue of part compatibility rather than build quality or design, a productive thing to do would be to contact RSD directly and suggest that they outline on their website the same thing that SMY publishes on theirs about incompatibility with AEM gauges. If you're going to pin RSD for anything in this situation, query them on why they did not publish the same information about the product on their website that the manufacturer does. That would strike me as productive, rather than crying about an imaginary case of censorship.

The situation sucks, and I'm sorry that you're out the money you paid for the cluster, OP. But maybe take SMY's advice and formulate another solution to make it work. And if you're upset with RSD and how they handled the situation, then don't shop with them. There's plenty of other places to get your parts from.

It is censorship.

It wouldn’t be if they let him “slander” then responded and made him look like a fool, that he may very well be. But that’s an entirely different argument. Are we arguing whether it’s censorship or whether he’s a fool?

I’m still on censorship of opinion. Clear. They have a legal right but is it morally right? You know that a 1* review would drop it considerably.

You're welcomed to pedal your crazy opinion about it being an "installation" issue. But I made it very clear, there were NO issues with the installation, it fit just fine. However, the AEM gauge did NOT fit fine and it WAS (no longer is) falling out because the rubber solution simply sucks ass. Again, the issue has been FIXED, and I am keeping the gauge cluster, but I would not recommend this product to others.

Why don't you just come clean and admit you work for RSD / SMY?

So having my OWN opinion about an item I bought and NOT liking it is "slander".. Not censorship at all..

I think is interesting how some people keep making this thread all about "installation".

An analogy to this situation would be me buying a pair of socks, then putting them on, NOT liking the socks, and wanting to review the socks saying: yeah they fit BUT I don't like them, they aren't comfortable. Then, have people telling me I didn't "put them on right".

You definitely understand the the idea I'm trying to convey.

As of this morning today, this is the product description RSD has for the SMY Cluster

It would have been most useful, if RSD's product description said NOT COMPATIBLE with some / all AEM gauges. However, based on the impeccable reviews (or so it seemed) and the pictures others uploaded, I thought "there will be no issues".

My beef is with RSD for refusing to post my opinion about my experience with this particular product. It's 100% censorship. Sure they own the website and can allow only whatever items they like. Which is why I say they cherry pick reviews.

Nope, you guessed wrong. I don't work in the automotive industry at all

I agree with the bottom part of your last post and I said the same thing; SMY says on their site that the gauge pods don't fit certain AEM gauges and it seems odd to me that RSD doesn't have the same thing posted. That's absolutely something you should address with them.

Maybe you'd like to post here the text of what your review was, maybe that would help people see if it's actually censorship or if RSD is just filtering a review that contained a bunch of profanity, etc
