Hi, all
I am in need of help regarding the installation of the AST 4150's, so far they come with no instructions whatsoever, I never had to put coilovers together and the fact that apparently only the rear have helper springs is confusing. I have camber plates in the front. I am just trying to make sure I am not missing a step.
this is what I have so far.

Thanks. Samy.

H&R patented ***8216;Triple C' Bolts replace the original upper fastening bolts on McPherson strut applications. ????

Why does H&R say to put them there but this faq says you cant put aftermarket bolts in the top spot?

Im confused my coilover set came with the TRIPLE C camber bolts for the front it says to put them in the spot where the factor camber bolt is.. As in Replace it with the H&R bolts..

Nevermind I think I figured it out

The first camber bolt installed should go in the top hole. Many cheap cars come with NO camber bolts at all from the factory, so the aftermarket bolt IS the first bolt and goes in the top hole. With our cars, that first camber bolt is put in at the Subaru factory. So, in this case, the generic instructions H&R publishes are wrong.

Yea.. I went back and re-read the faq etc.. Plus the bolt its 14mm bolt so it wouldn't fit properly in the top anyway right?..

I was just wondering because it came with my H&R coilover kit.. I didn't know if the application would be different since im not using the factory struts but the H&R coilovers.

Thanks..

It came with generic instructions as you pointed out.. Hell I don't even know how to put the stock top mounts on the Coilovers.. It didn't give instructions with the kit..

Looking for a good set of struts/springs or coils that are wife friendly but really don't want to drop the cash of Pss9. Mostly spirited driving with some autocross. Any reconnendations? And things to look out for since I know you get what you pay for

Coilovers are very straightforward.

- put car in air
- remove wheels
- loosen nuts on tophats but don't remove
- on fronts remove brake line holder
- on fronts remove large bolts holding lower strut to hub (if car has camber bolts in front which it should mark their presentation so you reinstall them the same way
- free strut from hub
- lift slightly and unbolt the top nuts to remove strut completely
- remove bolts in rear strut from lower control arm
- unscrew top nuts and pull out
- reverse process to install new coils
- be prepared to lift car up and down a couple times to check and adjust ride height on a level surface
- go get an alignment

BE PREPARED to repeat 2nd to last step several times(4 times for me/2 alignmnts as well)
to get perfect ride height
-too high.....so you dont look like an Outback
-too low...... so you won't eat up $80 of fndr liners or bow fndrs out

GL everyone!

I'm looking for a good kit of coil overs. I live in Montreal and need something for good bump absorption with good dampening so I don't want to kill my wheels on these potholes. I don't want to spend too much $$$. It's a 2011 WRX Hatch GR body. Let me know if you guys got some good ideas.

Thanks.

Cold/harsh w/salt and pot holes is a TERRIBLE application for coil-overs, IMO. Upgraded struts w/springs works best in those conditions.

What kind of application would you suggest because I have Koni/Eibach on my Lancia Delta and it's hard like a rock. I want something that can absorb well

This is not the correct place to ask for recommendations!

Stop trashing the thread and start one for your questions.

Hey guys I've been a member for a while but do not use this site very much due to my wrx being down for a while. I am looking for someone to point me in the right direction to possibly a thread how to or something.

I have a 2003 wrx. I have a donor 2005 sti. I am trying to do the Brembo STI brake swap on it.

Can someone post a link to one hopefully. I have been looking and can't find one. Thanks

New member here. Most of the posts refer to 2012 and earlier models. I have a 2015 Impreza base 2.0 and I'm Looking for absolute certainty that same year or previous years of WRX coilover will fit my car bolt on without alteration. Can anyone lead me to this conclusion please. Thank you

iI´m looking for a thread about the 08' Impreza 2.0 steering collumn... It´s very difficult to find any information here in Brazil, so i hope i can find it here.

My Impreza makes that annoying whining noise when u turn the steering wheel, but i've replaced that o-ring located at the hose wich connects the power steering pump and the reservoir. I also changed the pump itself twice, and i've noticed that inside the pump there was like little pieces of rubber, and my mechanical told me it could be the steering collumn. He said that it could be worn out, releasing this rubber i found inside the pump, and causing the blockage of the pump, the noise and eventually, fluid leaking.

Anyone here knows if its even a possibility? I´ve never heard anything like that, and i think my mechanical is crazy!! hahha !!

Well, thank's anyway!

C ya,

Zetto
