Default Mounted 12V Compressor for Airing Up the Wilderness

Added a little more utility to the Outback Wilderness.

I've been airing down with some 20PSI automatic air down valves but in a little ashamed of reinflating with a battery powered compressor that runs on USB C, while its super convenient for pumping up a basketball or a football its very slow to get even the stock 225s back up to 33psi. Ive got a big napa dual cylinder compressor but I dont have the extra space for another suitcase sized bag for carrying a compressor in the trunk area.

I looked at the CA Tuned ARB single option and didn't like mounting something that hangs over the brake lines and I didnt feel like getting another alignment when I take the bolts off to mount. So I went another route, in the bumper on the same tray that I'm currently using for my lower lightbar I've got a single motor 150psi 3.5cfm compressor by Vevor. I've used their tools in the past and they are effectivly on par with harbor freights nicer tools. They aren't snap on by a long shot but they get the job done, anyway, I ran their included bulkhead with their shutoff through a pneumatic PTC kit with 1/4NPT fittings and punched out a hole in the plastic trim in the engine bay near my fuse box for 130 PSI air on demand.

Its wired from my Auxbeam 8 gang to trigger the old school relay, through a 40A fuse and uses a 120PSi auto shutoff to get to pressure quickly and preserve power until the air is needed. Paired with a 25ft flexible hose with 1/4 NPT fittings I've got what I need to get tires back to running pressure in about 1/10 the time of the battery compressor. After talking to a few people I'm going to upgrade the air hose to a 50ft so i can use it to help others on the trail as well but the install, location and fittings I'm pretty happy with at install. Time will tell how long it lasts down there but for $100 shipped I can get 4 of them for the price of doing an ARB compressor.

If anyone's looking for something similar here's amazon links for all the gear except the compressor, I got the compressor on Ebay and amazon sells the ARB

That's a good solution. I'm a Jeeper and when offroading, notice that there are 3 ways I've seen people air up.

The simplest is a small compressor that can clip to the Jeep's battery terminals which is what I do. The advantage is that when we have newbies on a run without air, I can air up, then let them take my compressor to air themselves up without from wherever they've parked.

The second is common with air locker equipped rigs. The mounted compressor used for the locker is used to air up. Lots of ARB twins used for this.

The third is where the Jeeper has set up the AC compressor with an oiler upstream to become a really powerful air source. Not only can they inflate tires but there's enough air to power air tools. While these can be used in any vehicles, I tend to see them in older units where the AC has started to leak. So components are removed, and oiler installed with fittings for running air lines and there's your inflator.

Do you have to be careful of water crossings or submerging the pump?

With it low in the bumper, water seems like a concern. Not so much splashing as more deep puddles or shallow streams.
