OMGHi2U WRX Cobb AP Users New Maps and Map Management Software!!!

For all WRX Cobb AP users, they updated the Map Management Software to version 1.62 and released updated map revisions on all maps to 1.30v. I just finished updating my AP and will be doing the flash in the morning so I have no news on the end results. They also separated the 04 from the 05 maps; and the people that were having stalling issues seem to be gone.

I did that last night and did the Vishnu reset. I dunno but the car pulls like a raped ape right now and I am loving it. I never stalled but almost did so I update the software for the 2005. As a forwarning becareful when downloading maps....the 2005 and 2004 maps are split now so there are 3 columns now.

The maps are now easier to read with the AP map manager and also in the AP its self. You get the title with version number.

I installed the new ap stg2 map a few days ago and im very pleased! The power delivery is even smoother than before, and it seems to build boost easier. The boost also would sometimes spike a little at partial throttle and then settle back down and now it seems like it isnt overshooting and just doing what its supposed to. I was pleased before and i am even more pleased now

+eleventybillion

I used to run 1.20 and would actually feel the transition from CL to OL, but now it's smooth as waxed glass. Should fix your stalling problem, ydant, do eeeeet!

I loaded stage 2, 93oct, v1.30 (from v1.22) last Sunday. I've noticed slightly lower EGTs at WOT, smoother power band, and improved boost control. Very nice

For shizzle'.
Revision Notes:
1.30 - Skipped lower revision numbers for consistency. New ProTUNER file format. Minor adjustments to fuel, timing and boost mapping to improve performance.

Same for me....it was confusing. Lets see if I can simplify for ya. First download the new MapManagement software to 1.6.2 It is easy. http://www.accessecu.com/support/apmm_v1.62.exe

Then unmarry your accessport by choosing the revert to stock option. MAKE SURE THE PLUGS UNDER THE DASH ARE PLUGGED IN. Once the Accessport is unmarried you can verify that the cobb is unmarried. For me when I plugged the cobb into my dash it asked me what map to FLASH. If it isn't unmarried it will ask what map to SWITCH. While you are unmarrying the cobb (takes 5-10 min) you can download the new software for the 2004 off Cobb's site. http://www.accessecu.com/kb/index.ph...tId=22&catId=3

When you download the above stuff extract the files anywhere on your PC. Then open the folder the files are in and you will see only one .exe file where all the other files are the maps (I think the icons for the maps are B and R for base and realtime). Now before you click that .exe file you need to hook your Accessport to the PC and plug in the power cord. First just plug in the power cord and the accessport should say choose map to FLASH as a final confirmation that you did unmarry the cobb. Pull the power cord, HOLD DOWN THE UP AND DOWN BUTTONS on the cobb, and plug power back in while holding those buttons down. You should get a prompt on the cobb that it is waiting to sync to PC or something like that. Then click the .exe and it will update your Accessport.

To be safe download the 2004 map you want in version 1.3 from cobb's site and move them via map manager. Also to make sure that your Accessport updated you will see 2004 on the bottom of the map manager when you connect on your PC.

Then reflash your ECU.

I hope this clears things up. Do this at your own risk just like Cobb states. One mistake can screw your car up so read this and cobbs instructions 3 times.

If you need more help I will try.

OK here's a really dumb question:

I never flashed to the "new" maps when they came out, so I still have the old ones from around November of last year. Now, their guide says I don't need to reflash the AccessPORT or anything, which I understand. But my question is, can I leave the base 1.20 map on, and just run a 1.30 Realtime 93 octane?

Thanks
I was going to call tomorrow and ask em but this would save some time.

Did you push and hold down both the up and down button to sync to pc before powering on? You have to hold them down until it prompts you on the accessport.

But i had bought it used form a kid who said he sent it back in to get it unmarried...so i dunno, maybe the software is messed up.

Download the new map manager and look at the bottom of the window when you sync it to the accessport....it'll either say 2005 or 2004....if it says 2004 ecu you are golden
