Is this the first time that company moves a house?

Where is the bracing?!

The first house you can see big gaps in the T111, and how it's bowed sitting on the trailer.

The 2nd one, there needs to some bracing in those garages/across the door openings. You can see the left wall, porch, and left wall of the garage are racked out of plumb by probably a foot. I think the other side is the same way but can't tell for sure. Never mind minor drywall cracks, that house is never going to be straight.

Would have been better off to doze them and rebuild. That first house is a 1980s house that was thrown together by the dozens as cheap and quick as possible.
Yeah, this was on Raspberry road the other week. I'm not going to pretend I know a lot about moving houses, but the method did seem fairly precarious. I mean notice how they knocked over a traffic light!

I thought it ironic that the FAA didn't want the homes near the airport, but then they moved them on the ramps. I would have loved to have gotten pictures of them being moved across there!

We were out of state for a week (drove from Denver to Iowa to visit my side of family) - here's some photos.

Thanks! I've been finally getting myself more into photography than previously. Hopefully I don't outgrow my current camera too fast...

Apparently FAA condemned that area so the homes had to be moved. They were too close to the airport runway area from what I was told. Here's their "backyard" looking west towards the airport:
Pretty cool pics, not everyday you see houses being moved. Although... wouldn't someone at the building department realize they were too close to the runway BEFORE allowing them to be built?

I too like your photo editing. I also think it's pretty cool there is an old car still mostly intact.

What probably happened was that it used to follow the regulations when the house and/or runway was built. But with the planes getting bigger and other things such as airport noise they changed the regulations.

Sorry for the poor wording...trying to put it into the simplest terms

I love that this thread is keeping active! Have any of you guys gone back to any of the older pics? Some truly amazing photography for the ones that are still hosted.

I took a couple at Westchester Lagoon this morning while going for a cruise. I wasn't feeling well, but I had to get out of the house.

An artic tern cleaning itself.

Seein' how many I can catch in mid-flight.

I still need to download Lightroom.
