Modifications you did to your subie....
This is my first subaru and I bought a 2008 subie. Everyone knows how ugly the 2008 wrx looks so I did a few mods to enhance the look. I bought the car almost two years ago and paid cash for it because it was such a good deal.
Anyways, here's what i did... -tinted windows; light at the front, medium at the back, all the way around. - rally armor mud flaps - debadged "wrx" and moved it on top. Made the "WRX" wrapped around with red vinyl. - Tenzo Type R 'bronze' rims. - painted tuner lug nuts blue - STi rear wing spoiler - STi front grill - plastic dip the STi front grill to make it black, added red pinstripe. - Red Overlay tail lights, done recently, (had it done professionally at a shop). I don't recommend the bluebat overlays, i heard a lot of bad things about it. - Plasti drip the rear bar, used to be chrome. - HID mini D2S projectors headlights, beautiful blue and purple cut off. Also removed side markers so it's clear now instead of orange. Took the whole day to do it, baked the headlights etc... That's all I did to the car since last summer. If you guys have other suggestions/ideas what else I should do please comment If you have any questions about what i did don't hesitate to ask. Overall, I think the car looks a lot better than OEM and I'm really happy with the mods. And of course, the car ROCKS! MY first subie. p.s I was thinking of debadging everything in the back except for WRX emblem.... original 2008 wrx not a great shot, decided to take few pictures before i went to eat at an asian restaurant

Use a smaller pinstripe on the grill and ditch the truck flaps and it will look even better!

No way, keep the mud flaps, looks much better with them.
Plus, the guy behind you will be happy you aren't throwing snow/sand/mud/rocks up at him. At least I am whenever I'm following someone with mud flaps like this... Maybe check out something like this: http://www.fastwrx.com/coledtusibu.html Last edited by point78; 04-29-2013 at 08:26 AM. |

Looks good, mild suspension upgrade is next I'm guessing.
Have you personally had any issues with BlueBat overlays, or just going on hearsay? He's a regular contributing member with lots of happy customers around here. Last edited by jimbosv650; 04-29-2013 at 05:30 PM. |

Lumin-x is great. That's what I have on mine and the guy at the shop used the whole sheet and just cut the center piece out. Maybe if Bluebat sells you the sheet instead of already cut out...then it will look better.... |

if time permits, I will take better pictures. The overlays look a lot better in person. Also I'll take a pic of HID. I wish the HID came with WRX not just STi.

Lowering springs. That would give it a more aggressive stance since you don't have a widebody.

The car looks great, especially compared to stock... but dude, ditch the ugly dealership license plate frame and replace it with something like this:

Looks nice. The only suggestion I have would be to tint the 3rd brake light in the STi wing red to match your tail lights.
Is your car a 2.5i or a WRX? Your profile and previous threads say it's a 2.5i. Just curious. |

Looks like it's not a 2008 2.5i (does not have black door handles?)

ditch all the emblems on the back besides the WRX one and maybe a front plate delete. I really hate that front bar, wish Subaru didn't do that to us. I'd recommend black rally armor flaps, but to each their own.
Looks real clean though man, nice job |

It's a 2.5i wrx. Sorry I'll change the profile. I was thinking of making the brake light red too only costs me $10 extra but I decided no...hmmm wonder if I made the right choice

Thanks man. It is black rally armor flaps but not the polyurethane ones. Those are sooo expensive. I bought the basic rally armor flaps. So far it's been able to withstand snow, gravel and big rocks.

This, it seems like an area where you want others to post their cars yet this seems like a personal build thread.
