Default looking for an amazing wheel cleaner

running slotted rotors and the carbotech panther pluses.. and the brake dust on their is stuck on.. i cant even get it off with a pressure washer. it's going to take me hours per wheel to scrape it off with my finger and a rag and soap.. any ideas or products that might help? I've also scratched my wheel up pretty bad with the previous method.

thanks in advance.

I like Meguire's wheel cleaner, a bristle brush, a little elbow grease, and a nice coat of wax to minimize the work next time around.

I have always had good results from standard Armor All wheel cleaner.
Although I clean my wheels once/week or more. Since you are going long enough to actually get dust caked on to the point where it is hard to remove with anything other than water and a towel, IMO you need to clean them more often. It's just the nature of the beast...

Werd.. I usually get 2 times around on one bottle.
Takes about 90% of the wheels dust off. I just use a damp rag to get the rest off.

A clay bar will help get the really stuck stuff off.

won't brake parts cleaner work just as well? that's what i use on the inside of the rim before placing stick-on weights when i'm balancing it, and it gets rid of the brake dust and dirt pretty good.

A harsh chemical cleaner will only do more harm then good.

You need to protect the wheel from the brake dust...

Clean your wheels with regular auto soap and water.
Dry, then apply a coat of RejeX protectant... You should be able to lessen the amount of cleanings and protect the wheels from the harsh dust from those brake pads.

A coat of wax on the wheels will really help keep them clean. Other than that, any wheel cleaner will be fine, just make sure its not a chemical cleaner.

I usually keep a bottle of whatever wheel cleaner in the garage (they all seem to work equally well), but if I'm out I've used citrus degreaser with good results. Waxing definitely seems to help.

people seem to rave about this stuff; I have some on order. Get the gel stuff for heavy-duty cleaning. Coat w/Rejex after cleaning to keep the brake dust off.

fwiw, this was the only place I could find that carries both P21S and Rejex.

Eagle1 A2Z and a brush.
Brembos leave too much brake dust. Plain wheel cleaner wont remove all.

^^ +1 I like this stuff.

If you want to do it right, either clean your wheels first, (before the car) or take them off to clean them.

Take a look at this thread about wheel cleaners, and P21s

P21S wheel cleaner meets it's maker.

Agree. I'm always concerned about overspray from the wheel cleaner and like the idea of washing the car afterwards just to make sure none is on the paint. I usually give mine the 'super clean' when I have them off for rotation every 6k.

I tried Rejex on my last set of STI silvers... I feel that it didn't do as much good as I thought really... oh well.
