Default Good customer service vs. bad customer service

Post your experiences here...

Good:
Nixon watches-my wife's watch dropped out of her bag and was run over a couple times and buried in the dirt. We found it a couple months later and sent it in for a band replacement. They said that since the face was "slightly discolored" that they would only charge us for the band, but replace the whole watch.

Blue Bunny Ice Cream Wife wrote a letter that one of their cartons of ice cream we bought was bad (not much cookie dough and it had melted and then refroze). They had one of their guys hand deliver 6 cartons to our house.

Fisher Price Our daughter liked climbing in her baby brother's portable swing. She is still under their weight maximum for the swing, but I don't think that includes jumping/flopping down into it or any of the other abuse it took. We called them and it was out of warranty. They sent us a voucher for a new one anyway.

Bad:
DVS shoes - The sole of my shoe cracked in half. Left 3 calls and never got a call back. Finally called their sales line (they actually answer that one!) and they went to get someone for me. She had me send the shoes in. Called a month later to check progress. No call back. Never did receive a call back, but got shoes back 7 weeks later.

Prairie Arms (local gun store) To make a long story short, they didn't deliver my gun back to me on time, lied about why, lost the front sight they were supposed to be putting on, said they were cleaning the gun and didn't, and when I got it back, it was filthy, had a couple new scratches on the slide, and the set screw of the rear sight wasn't even screwed in all the way. Of course, the "service" ended up being free.

Your turn.

Good:
Creative Labs. Replaced my front panel for my sound card. It somehow got fried when an amp blew a tube that was connected to it. They weren't supposed to cover it because it wasn't a manufacturer's defect but they did.

Bad:
CompUSA. I went to return some unopened PS2 games. Apparently they were out of the return period. I went to speak to the manager because there was no return period printed on the reciept. He offered $10 store credit for each game since they were "discontinued". I went over to game aisle and they were selling them for $29.99 each.

Good:

CompUSA: Bought a 500W power supply there (damned expensive, though), got home, found a used 350W in the box!

Took it back to them the next day, return counter guy spoke to the manager for 30 seconds, then accepted it back, no hassle at all. I got another one from the shelf, it was slightly dented, got a different one from the shelf, it was good to go. Major kudos for good customer service.

Bad: Taco Bell in Wichita Falls, TX. I order food, get to the window, window guy asks, "Dis yo ****?" Hands me the food.

Best Buy I ask for a digital audio coaxial cable, they immediately grab the Monster cable ($$$). I search for another 3 seconds, find another brand that's $20 cheaper for the exact same thing.

Compusa sells used merchandise, they wouldn't accept my DVD-R's because two of them were already burned and labeled. I don't buy much from there anymore.

Good: El Gaucho, Seattle WA. Restaurant that my GF took me to last Saturday, and it was amazing. Not only was the food awesome, but the ambience (mink-lined booths that they restored!), the service (waiter totally took care of us, people came by to make ceasar salads from scratch, including the dressing, as well as doing the bananas foster flambee in front of us), and the overall mood of the evening. Sure, the price was up there, but it was worth it (or so my GF says, since she paid for it).

Bad: Chase Automotive Finance. I paid off my car back in September, and I have the lien release letter from them, but STILL NO TITLE. There was some confusion back in the day, and they're still trying to get a duplicate made up from the state of CA, even though I'm not there anymore. At first they went to WA to try to get it, even though I said that WA will not have it since I moved up here without having the title (I didn't own the car at the time). They still went and tried to get it from WA, which through all the layers of red-tape, it has still taken as long as it has.

Sprint: As long as they give me the phone I want for free, it's good, if not bad.

bad.
yque.com. bought shirts xmas before last, order arrives missing a shirt, contact them, told on back order, wait a week, no shirt, contact and complain, no one seems to remember that order, they say they'll do one special and send out, another week nothing, call and tell them to refund my $, they try and give grief saying shirt is ready to be sent, "have fun wearing it and give me my money back" i says.

Order the title yourself from CA if you really need it.

Oh, it's in process. I guess I should tell more about the story.

Chase has already started the process to get the title from CA, and therefore I can't touch it. They're having trouble because they 1. asked the wrong department or something, then 2. sent an incorrect check that was denied, and then 3. now are awaiting the title.

I forgot to call them today and check on the status, since it's been a few weeks since I last spoke to them. But I should have it any day now, according to them. I'm in no rush to sell my car, which is the only reason I'd want my title, but I still would like to have proof that I own my car.

Never heard of it, but I'll know to stay away.

Basically, no places in Redmond are any good.

Well, except for Sahib in RTC, although their food and service have both gone down recently. I think a few people left the business to pursue other things, and it might have been a family run business.

Kanishka is also in Redmond, also good, until someone drove a Honda through it.

But yeah, most restaurants in Redmond aren't anything to write home about. Reason I tend to stay out of Redmond as much as I can... except that I have to come here every day.
