To my knowledge the delicious tuning kits will work with my ECU but Cobb doesn't support the SH Forester XT platform, so I still wouldn't have flex fuel capabilities.

well... cobb doesn't support flex fuel for 2002-2005 wrx's, yet delicious tuning CAN tune flex fuel through the accessport on it. i have already contacted them about it. doesn't hurt to contact them.

That is why you would be leaning out.

The front O2 sensor isn't really a wideband because of it's placement, it is more like a narrow band sensor. If you move it behind the turbo, it will perform more accurately and will allow it to perform like a wideband sensor, at least down to about 11.3:1...below that it doesn't really work.
Sorry been off the forums for sometime now. So i was using Cobb ATR to tune not RomRaider. That calibration worked for me had the car running e85 like that capping out MAP at 24 psi, on an MAF based tune still had room on MAF (making less than 300g/s). Also found out under boost front O2 is about .3 to tops .5 off. It ran leaner than what I liked but had no issues. The tune worked well, made a lot of power and e85 has more cooling effect than gas and didn't have issues running slightly leaner. AFR per AP was about 11.5, leanest I saw with O2 up tail pipe external was 12 which is pretty lean for boost application. AFR value based on gas stoichiometry, which is what computer read actual values are much richer but the AP will not give u them as it doesnt know difference in fuel types. I ran sti pinks with td04 like that 7 years and sold the car a couple months ago. -just an update for anyone considering sti pinks/td04/e85. Idc was close to 100% on WOT runs. I just got an 05 STI with stock injectors and vf39 tuned at 18.5 psi I'm getting 100% idc, so really pinks which are a little bigger than USDM STI injectors worked fine for td04 ej205 e85 build. My friend is still driving the car around. 1 issue I did have was tranny blew 1st gear after to many aggressive launches. Weekend 1/8 mile several times a month for a 1 year. Total milage at the time when it happened was 130,000 with RP gear oil, bad experience. Rebuilt and put AMSOIL gear oil sold to my friend at 168000 miles and he's still driving it. :-)

Unhappy My car stalls and can’t find the solution.

Hey guys I know that this might not be the best place to post about this but I need urgent help. So currently I have an automatic 2010 Subaru Impreza 2.5i and right now the car is stalling when the car is parked and has warmed up. I checked the codes and I got the “cylinder 1 and 2 misfire” code and the guys at the auto shop told me to start by changing the spark plugs, and so I started by first switching the sides of the coils, and the same code came up and so I knew that the problem wasn’t in the coils, and so I changed the spark plugs. I then checked again and the code for the oxygen sensor came up and so I then changed the mass airflow sensor, and finally i checked back again and I got the “catalyst fuel efficiency below threshold bank 1” code and so I started by changing the fuel injectors, then the cat sensors both upstream and downstream and finally the cat itself. The problem wasn’t fixed, there’s clear smoke coming from the exhaust, the fuel doesn’t fully combust, the gas smells with a mix of burning plastic and unburnt fuel as if you were standing in a running boat, and when you put the car into drive or reverse, the car shakes and has a high pitch sound as if you were to shake a can of spray or something. Any help is appreciated.

Had to think about something i haven't really cared about before. Fuel filter media.

What types are people running, seems no manufacture wants to fess up that there media is E85 safe although im sure some are, i been running a OE filter (who knows whats in it) for 3 years on e85 with no "known" issues. But I changed my chassis and fuel system, went to a Trickflow canister filter that comes with a fabric filter. They claim to have fabric, paper, cellulose and stainless media options. But i can only find the paper option as a replacement, stainless filters only seem to do 100 microns, so whats the snuff. Will fabric be ok?

OE held up for a while, but doesn't flow enough volume. I use a Magnafuel filter with cleanable media. Pressure dropped back to stock with a better filter. It uses a metalized filter media. The first time I cleaned it looked like a soupy sandy puddle on the inlet side, like it had been rubbed in the dirt offroad. The output side looked great. I'm happy with it. The O-rings have held up well, too. It has never leaked. Use -6AN fittings and you can relocate the filter wherever you please.

I dont think he does it anymore. But you dont need his sensor. Any 0-5v ECA will do, i tend to suggest one of the Innovate motorsports kits, they have basic up to a 4in1 kit with wideband and stuff. Theres even thread on here somewhere to build your own

^ I went with Innovates ECA. Im just running a single e35 map but its easy enough to wire it in to a tgv or o2 sensor and be able to use it for a flex fuel tune. Less complicated than making your own and still much less than a flex fuel kit.

I checked out the innovative sensor and gauge kit, besides for the gauge would that have have an output so it can be wired up to my rear o2 sensor so the ecu can use it for automatic blending/map determination?

yes, two outputs, one for ethanol content and one for temp. But your stock tank has temp i believe so you dont really need that one

Default Fuel starvation

Hi,

How common is the fuel starvation problem during cornering? I recently bought a -04 STi, it's running E85 and has a DW300 installed.

The previous owner described this issue and had plans on installing a surge tank. I went out for a spirited drive today with 1/2 tank and the car died twice(!)

I'm quite baffled by this and have a suspicion that something else is wrong other than the inherent design of the fuel tank, the cornering wasn't extreme or prolonged. If this were the case with every STi I think we would read and hear more about it.

I'm not really sure if i should bite the bullet and get a surge tank just yet, I would like to hear others experience and hear your solutions first. Im thinking E85 is part of this because the greater fuel consumption. On the ride home from picking the car up I averaged about 25L/100km.

I took out the fuel pump assembly and took the jet pump apart, all sorts of grime in it. Im hoping this is responsible for most of the trouble i'm having. This is worth checking out to anyone having the same issue as me. An upgraded jet pump is also on the market, said to be necessary when having an upgraded fuel pump.

Note that this would be in its own thread, if I were able to create one.
