Default PDX tuned VF23 wrx

well first of all, I would like to thank Tim from PDX for taking some time out to fly into Ohio to tune some subies! Also want to thank Don(Quack) and many others for making this happen.

I have not seen many vf23 turbos make this much power yet. Or maybe I just suck at searching. But my car made 290whp/266 torque on pump 93. With Cam2 fuel the car made 303whp/300 torque. The turbo was definately maxed out. These numbers are also put down on the mustang dyno. So give me a month and I will see what kind of numbers I can get on the dynojet or dynapak.

Pretty damn satisfied with how the car is running now too. My car was previously tuned by Dan from Godspeed. Making 265whp/ 250torque on a Dynapak dyno. So definately a huge gain from Tim tuning it!

With the old tuned, I made a pass at 13.3 @ 103mph in the 1/4 mile. so with the new power Im making. Im really looking foward to hitting high 12s.

This summer should be a good time at autocrossing and drag events. I wont feel left out no more. I can atleast keep up with sti's now

here are my mods...

vf23 turbo
aps dr625 front mount kit
sti pinks 565cc injectors
walbro fuel pump
perrin turbo inlet pipe
turbo xs short ram
sard blowoff valve
turbo xs utec
3 inch downpipe
uppipe
the loud ass Buschur racing catback!
turbo smart dual stage boost controller

so Tim, if you read this... I wanna say thanks one more time!

not bad numbers. But how are you driving at the strip? I ran faster than 13.3 on stock turbo. Are you coming out of the hole soft (pretty smart if you are) Again not bad numbers at all i bet the car feels tons better

I picked up the turbo used from my buddy for 400 bucks

as for when I launch, I do come out of the hole real soft. I rather smoke my clutch than my tranny

i would say target boost is just around 4,000 rpm. i would imagine target boost with a top mount would be quicker.

WRX2FFU, without you dude, my car wouldnt have gotten tuned! thanks yo

Great numbers! What was your base dyno run (the Godspeed tune) before Tim tuned it?

overboost, i'd love to see more data if you have it.... dyno plots, afr/boost, or even utec logs from a few highway pulls.

i've been beating up a vf23 for over a year now, and i think it's a very good turbo.

ride5000- ill work on getting the graph and stuff for you this week

txl146- at godspeed, i believe it was tuned at 18-19psi
pdx tuned was at 20 on pump gas.. and i think 24-25psi on race.. my boost gauge only reads up to 20. but im sure tim told me 24-25psi

thanks for the info...

by the way, did you get a baseline run before tuning? we could compare your 265/250 on the dynapak to what you ran on the mustang.

-ken

edit:

also, cam2 can mean a lot of different blends... did you use unleaded gt100, or some other formulation?

running 290whp & ~ 270wtq (from an ecutek data log).
are you planning to go for more power? risking the 2.0 block?

Also running the VF 23. I'm a 278 whp using crappy Cali 91 octane and a Spearco Top Mount. Sounds like theres a little more room for power on these turbos.
