09 wrx vs 10 camaro ss..
dunno if this is the right section to post this but I really like the new camaros looks and thought about gettin it instead of the subie. The camaros 0-60 is 4.7 so wondering if the wrx is moded means it will easily dust the ss?

well the camaro does have about a 160hp advantage over the WRX but i'd still go for the WRX because its a better overall package.
then again those camaros are damn sexy. mmmmmmm |

Camaro SS will pull away from WRX like it's standing still once speed reaches over 60mph. WRX will need bigger turbo to hang with SS.

i'm a longtime chevy fan....but the new camaros just don't do it for me looks wise. unless you're deadset on a camaro, then i suggest a C5 Z06. probably cheaper and faster than a new camaro ss. sorry, i didn't help with your question .

The new Camaro SS will beat the snot out of a WRX.
I had a 99 Camaro Z28 and ran 13.2@106MPH with a 2.05 60' (not good), which would still beat the new WRX. WRX would definately handle better as stated and you could drive it around and have fun in the Winter / Snow which you won't really want to do in that Camaro. I would go drive both. To me, the 09 WRX felt like a big pile of mush aside from the handling... didnt like it at all. The Camaros are huge head turners right now too, the WRX... not so much. (if you care about that sort of thing...) |

Check Out how much dealers are selling the camaro ss for, and you'll definately want the wrx.

I agree about the C5 Z06, hard to beat unless you need to drive it in the winter.

My friend has a 10 camaro SS six speed. Hands down that thing is a BEAST! I drove it all over town and on the highway. The only thing that sucks is how much body roll it has, well compared to my 04 STI. The power packages avaliable for the camaro are crazy!! U buy a big turbo up grade for the STI for say 4k, u can supercharge the camaro for 7, now ur driving a low 10 second street legal car that is a head turner! Go with the camaro dude, girls will swarm u like a crazy. Every where we go, no lie, people are taking pictures asking to look at it. I never scene a car get this much attention. Go to the camaro forums and read for urself .
PS. Good luck finding one before dec. Since they are on such a back order. They can be found at dealerships but are usually sold the day they come in. If u have any questions let me know, it's sitting in my garage now. |

i'm thinking that it would be a fairer comparison to test the wrx against the 6 cylinder camaro since it does pump out 306hp.

there was one at the drag strip. a SS
not impressed. best they got was a 13.9 w/traction control, 15.5 without. FTL stage 2 MY02 WRX wagon w/135k on the clock.......... ....13.5 Saw him back in the lanes and we chatted. He said it wasn't fair as I have AWD. I said, "yea, but you have a muscle car, and I drive a family economy station wagon" FTW |

Any LS3 car will destroy a WRX in a straight line. From a roll, it won't seem like the WRX is even racing.
Unlike what most people want to believe is true, the new Camaro can go fast around turns and stop. I would take the camaro over a wrx. Nick |

MOST people don't have a clue how to drag race. I'd never judge what a car will run by some tard at the track. Yes, R&T got a 12.9 and it was with a POOR 60' time. Put a set of ET Street radials mix in some VHT and a good burn out, get .2-.3 better 60' and you're looking at .4-.6 faster in the quarter! |

"You have awd"...worst excuse ever since most sub 10 second cars are not awd. The camaro is more of a panty dropper, go for it if you have a winter beater or live somewhere with no snow. I might move to a blazer for winter and a camaro or challenger just because they are damn sexy.

You might as well ask, should I get an M3 or a Mini Van? Both vehicles were made for an entirely different purpose.

yeah, i would venture to say that time wasn't run with a stock 99 Z28 The new camaro looks awesome, especially in that blue color. Love the car, but really un impressed with the times it's putting up with how much power it has. |

I did a 12.9 with a 1.88 60ft in my stock 08 WRX with $700 in exhaust/K&N and E85 tuning package. That was before I got launch control for a whopping $50. Haven't timed it with the launch control yet but I would suspect there's a 12.6 in there. I paid $16500 for my POS, what's that bitchen Camero cost? I would get killed on the top end or without E85, and with a "good" driver it would be tough to beat, but still SUPRISE bitchen Camero! Yea they do look pretty sweet though.....
