Default Recall on modified car

Hey everyone, I searched around but couldn't find the answer, question is: if I have an aftermarket exhaust system and air intake, will I still be able to have my 2002 wrx worked on for free for the fuel line recall? I'm smelling fuel and going to take it in but wanted to make sure Before I get there and find out I can't.

Thank you!

These are unrelated systems, you will be fine. Enjoy having a monkey take your intake manifold off.

Isn't a human just an evolved monkey?

You don't have a warranty in the first place.

Secondly, a factory recall is completely different than the factory warranty. Recalls are taken care of separately.

My car was stage 2 when I took it in for the fuel line and seat belt recall, no problems.

If your car is covered under the leaking fuel-line warranty, then any work performed is without regard to aftermarket parts.

There may be additional costs or charges since the aftermarket parts could be a factor with respect to the repair.

Some dealers choose not to work on a car that has been modified, especially with regard to warranty work.

Call the dealer.

I didn't say warranty. But the dealer said they should be ok. I have lowering springs and so they won't do the lower control arms... whatever; but if they say no to fuel line ill contact soa, the smell is really bad in the cabin.

the only reason you should be concerned with mods and going to a dealer is when you have a warranty and are requesting warranty work.

if your car doesn't have a warranty in the first place, mods dont matter.

if the dealer wont work on your car because of "aftermarket parts", you need to find a different dealer.

I have lowering springs and recently had my control arms replaced. They also replaced the big "U" brace that was pretty rotted. No questions asked.
