Default OBD2 Port Pin out?

Im looking for a pin out guide for the bottom of the APV2. Id like to know what pins on the bottom of the AP are used to communicate with the car. Since the car only needs 4 but the AP has 9.

There are more than 4 pins because the AccessPORT is used with different vehicles, so, for a given vehicle, some of the pins will be unused. You can use a multimeter to determine which pins in the cable are used.

Why don't you just cut the cable and use it to wire up to the obd2 port?

Hey Bill from Cobb Tuning,
Are there only supposed to be a total of 9 pins on the AP-SUB-003 unit? In the instruction manual it says there is supposed to be 10

There are 9 pins plus 1 blank position on the AP.

The very early "V2" hardware had a full 10-pin connector. It is functionally the same (the 10th pin is "dead" and not used) but allowed for the cable to be plugged in backwards (180 degrees from correct), which many users mistakenly had happen. We revised the connector slightly by dropping to 9 pins and making the blank pin keyed to a blank spot in the cable -- this way, the cable can only be plugged in the correct way. Hope this helps clear up any questions!

Cheers
