Tint prices
Hey guys what do you think of this. I am having my '13 wrx bone stock hatch tinted (no idea how the first owner drive it like this for 10 years lol) I am doing 20% all around except 50% on windshield and he said he will do a banner of 20% on windshield for free if I want. He is charging me $550. Yes I know it is pricey but in my area it's mostly just shady audio shops that do remote starts and tinting on the side or this dude who was 2-3 years older than me but not 2-3 grades ahead of me in school to put it nicely haha that has a garage called and i kid you not.. pro dip garage hahaha. He literally opened it up to plastidip peoples car but I believe he moved on to classier things like wraps but I'm sure it's still the same shoddy work he did on his mazdas and Hondas when we were younger.
The guy I am taking mine to has done work for me previously and he even closed up shop for awhile but came back to it because he had such high demand because of his quality of work. Am I really being THAT f'd over on price? Either way I just don't want somebody sketchy to be alone with my car for 3-4 hours who can blame me?

sounds in the right neighborhood for pricing of a reputable shop. my last tint job was ~2 years ago and only had the front windows done for 200 which included stripping the driver side window. The rears i left alone as they were darkly tinted and not in to bad of shape compared to the front.

Thanks ya I was just looking for confirmation that I wasn't crazy. I strongly believe you get what you pay for and I am willing to pay extra for a reputable installer and the lifetime warranty he provides.

I went with lumar air 80 on the sides and windshield for my car. Pulled the door panels for them. The rear wasn’t bad enough to redo without possibly needing to replace the entire window due to the purpling tint on the defroster.
They found rust starting in the windshield frame so said they cleaned that up. Mine cost almost $800 and I don’t look like a drug dealer anymore. And it’s no longer illegal, so another bonus. Just waiting for the back to need done now. |

$550 for all windows including the windshield actually sounds pretty cheap in this day and age, assuming you are getting a quality product done by a reputable installer.
What type of film is he using? You left that detail out. There is a big difference between cheapo dyed film vs. a high quality ceramic film and that alone can account for a huge difference in price. |

That price is reasonable assuming he is using quality materials. Always worth the extra nickels for a quality tint job. You don’t want the bubbles or the fade-to-purple look lol Cheaping out on cosmetic stuff is never worth it. You can waste a lot of money trying to save money***128078;
