it may not have the turbo though. just the increased height, retuned differential, and geyser blue color and copper accents.

yep, just as I thought, but what will the retuning of the final drive ratio do for its driving on rugged terrain

I can't believe that the Wilderness model doesn't have a turbo...

Tom Doll would say: ruggedness and offroad capability isn't defined by power.

I think that's why the n/a Outback doesn't get the Wilderness treatment. If you are good with the 2.5 n/a, you have the Forester WE. If you want the turbo, you have the Outback WE.

in other words, if you must have the turbo, we have the outback, but if you fear the reliability of the turbo, then the 2.5 forester can quell that fear.

It's not like a turbo Forester ever hurt Forester or Outback XT sales. Previous gen Forester XT made up 10% of all Forester sales at most. If the XT was only available in the Wilderness Edition, it would make the product line-up of Wilderness Editions more exciting. The Crosstrek is supposed to get a Wilderness Edition, but now there's no reason to get excited for it since Subaru has shown they're willing to just stick to the standard engine offerings.

WHOA!! See the Yokohama Geolander wording in white? This is an all out CAT truck for the wilderness. Those plastic fender covers, they are a sneak peek at what the WRX will be getting.

That looks... awful.

took all of what makes the base model less attractive than the upper trims, and like quadrupled down on it, but raised the price.

I try not to be overly critical until I've had a chance to see a vehicle a few times but . . . damn, this is a challenge.

I don't like it.

Interesting how the black plastic on the wheel-wells change the perception of tire size and over-all height.

Peace,

Just noticed the partial black hood. This is hilarious. I hope Subaru doesn't black out the hood scoop on the new WRX, it is after all Rally Bred and designed for the next generation of drivers. Plastic cladding and all.
