I am not sure how this would go in Canada. Here are some benefits for doing it in the USA.
1. Never having to worry about voting again
2. Never having to worry about which gun to buy
3. etc...

It is a felony to do this in the USA.

PM me for details.

Theoretically, you could reduce back pressure on the exhaust system. This could result in more or less power depending on other system variables.

Question

okay, how about this on a MY99RS.
Borla headers - keep the first cat stock...-remove the second cat - remove the resonator - straight into a scoobysport.
with a CAI induction.

aside from emissions laws will this improve or hinder the performance????

I'm told that launching all zig can be effective for removal of cats. Benefits include: All your base still belong to you, nobody set up you the bomb, and best of all you'll never have to grap on your tired again.
You know what you are doing, m'kay?

I removed the first cat, and left the second one..its a LOT louder, and a bit more pull at the top end. Didn't seem to hurt low end torque. Car passes smog test without the cat too.

Oh yeah, other pertinent mods:
-Custom Intake
-MagnaFlow Muffler
-real spark plugs (Champion is no good)
-Underdrive pulley

A little trivia about catalytic converters:

According to federal law, (clean air act), it is also illegal to take a car originally equipped with a catlytic converter and use it for "off-road" use. (raceing etc). The car must first be de-certified by the feds before this can happen.

Also the clean air act states that it is illegal for an owner to transplant an engine from a car which does not match the original certified engine/chassis configuration. In other words if the engine replaceing the original engine is not just like the original, then it's illegal.

It is also illegal, according to the EPA to install a dual exhaust in place of a single exhaust, or to change the stock exhaust configuration in any manner.

It is also illegal for the muffler to exceed the stock decible rating.

Installation of a cool air intake is also a federal violation according to the EPA.

So how many criminals do we have out there?

45 states have strict EPA standards, 5 do not. I have found no Federal law stating that removal of a catalytic converter is a felony, I have found that the punishment is a 25,000 dollar fine. There are several states that can give you a felony punishment for removing a catalytic converter. So Unless I'm mistaken... and that may be so, I don't believe it's a felony in all of the USA.

If you look at the vast amount of laws in this country you will find that a very large majority of the population are indeed criminals by the definition of the law. However, the 16th Jurisprudence states that any law contradicting the US constitution is null and void, and therefore a non-law. Going by this guidline, 90% of the federal governments activities are done without proper authority. We are all criminals, and that is the way it's intended to be by those that rule us.

sorry for the rant.

The government can make as many laws as they want. But can they enforce ALL of the laws? No. Just look at all the CAIs out there.

Default catalytic converter

Hello everyone,

Looking at an 09 Impreza sedan for my daughter. The lady that is selling it said that her son removed the resonator. I only see one catalytic converter on the car........the one that's built in to the manifold. There is a bulge in the middle pipe, but it doesn't look like a converter. I also do not see a bung in the pipe for an O2 sensor in that middle pipe. Wondering if he removed the cat and resonator? Can anyone help?

Thanks!!
