The 9 year old plastic radiator broke.

Replaced it with a Blitz aluminum.

Ouch! Did it break whilst out driving? I got mine changed this summer to get it through the shaken but just went with a standard Koyorad replacement. That Blitz one looks good though.

Hopefully it broke at a time/place where it did not leave you stranded and you were able to shut down quickly.

As our own bugeye project moves (very) slowly along, I have a new Koyorad unit sitting ready to go back in place of the 20 year old original item, which although still fine, surely must be getting into that "danger" zone...

I noticed a slight leak and was still able to drive it for a few days before the crack completely broke. I arranged a rental kei-truck ahead of time and wasn’t stuck at all. So it was all good.

Replaced this coolant pipe and hoses, which I had sitting in the parts pile already.

Also took the opportunity to clean the years of oil and coolant grime out from the under tray.

Unfortunately after replacing the radiator, the waterpump gasket started leaking…

So I called for reinforcements and sent it off to my regular shop. Told him to do the timing belt while he was in there.

Now she’s back and driving leak free and I’m driving worry free.

Also, one of my coworkers has a pretty sweet FD

Holy @#$*&, that Mazda is beautiful! Your post encouraged me to to a bit of reading as I was not familiar with what "FD" meant. I was surprised to learn that the third generation RX-7 continued in Japan for seven more years after they stopped being sold in North America. A real high-water mark in sports car design IMO...

Yeah, it's an icon of Japanese sports cars. That design will always look good.

I can't believe we saw a proper snowfall out in Kochi. My parents were here for the winter holidays and brought a white Christmas with them.

Yeah, it brought me back to Massachusetts winter as well. And that’s a negative on the salt.
