Default Xede ECU

Whats up guys,

Just wondering if anyone here is running the Xede ECU engine management on there 04+ STI. If so how do you like it? My Speed Shop here recomends it and says he wouldn't put annything else on the STI. Just want to hear some feedback for some people already using it. Thanks.

If your speed shop will not put anything else on an STi they are biased for some reason other than your needs. A good shop should be open to basically any form of EM, and give you the information YOU need to decide what you want to run. There are several options out there for the STi, each having it's own strengths and weaknesses.

There are more people having sucess with the UTEC or the EcuTek reflash than there are people using the Xede. I am not saying they are better or worse, just that they are more popular.

I have the PnP Xede for my 04 sti. Installation was a breeze. I have had it on my car since october and love it. Shiv and david @ vishnu perf were very helpful in the setup. Very easy system to use when connected to your lap top for adjuating etc... I recommend it for its ease of use and performance gains. If you have any specific ?'s regarding the Xede drop an im to me. Cooter on the forum has the xede and i believ that markgsti as well. Ask them for their input as well.

I dont really know how the IM thing works. Sorry I'm new when it comes to message boards. But the only few Q's I had were:

1. What mods do you have done with the Xede?

2. Can you do data logging on a laptop? If so any extra costs for the cables or cd rom?

3. Can it be adjusted from like street setting or daily driving setting or a track mode, for different fuel maps and boost configurations.

4. Does the car act like a stock car as far as drivability and have good daily driving aspects?

5. what did you pay for the system?

6. Did you have it tuned? dyno?

I plan on running a downpipe, hks hi power exhaust and a short ram intake for now. I want to upgrade the compressor and maybe a front mount intercooler after the warranty is up. I just want to buy a good engine management right now that will last me for what ever I do for mods now and in the future. thanks.

1. What mods do you have done with the Xede?
- aps 3" full turbo back exhaust and a list of suspension
upgrades.

2. Can you do data logging on a laptop? If so any extra costs for the cables or cd rom?
- i believe once the ver 3 xede software comes out you will be
able to do data logging. the software is can be downloaded
from the vishnu site. only cable needed was a the one from
the xede. It is a parellel to usb port cable that i needed to
use with my laptop. For any specific questions i would call
Vishnu and ask for david. He will be better versed in the
ins and outs of the software. I just call and they help with
any adjustments i need to make for my application. Im not
a tuner so i need their help.
3. Can it be adjusted from like street setting or daily driving setting or a track mode, for different fuel maps and boost configurations.
- yes you can switch from say a race map to street map. I
am using the 93 octane base map. fairly safe map, but i
then changed some of the boost parameters to pick it up
a bit. Now in 4th and 5th gear can peak at 1.25 to 1.3 bar.

4. Does the car act like a stock car as far as drivability and have good daily driving aspects?
- i can say that with the full tbe and the xede pnp em system;
the car pulls much harder and the boost is very linear.
not on and off at all. Very drivable and i have no complaints.

5. what did you pay for the system? the xede pnp was 999 the
- the aps turbo back was 1050 shipped

6. Did you have it tuned? dyno?
- i live in lafayette la and there is a serious lack of credible
tuners int he area, so i am waiting for shiv with vishnu to go
back to atlanta in march and have him do the tuning for my
car. Hope to have my green , injectors, and fuel pump by
then as well. We do nto have a 4 wheel dyno within 5 hrs
from here to my knowledge

** overall i am happy about this em system. And would
recommend it. Now in regards to the specifics and
specific tuning questions i would call vishnu direct for any
of those.

Ive got the Exede in my 05 sti and cant complain. The ability to switch maps and the reliability are noteworthy. Ive had no idle problems and the power is consistent from
3000rpm up through 6. Not too peaky ,making it a wonderful daily driver!
The fact that Shiv makes himself available for ?'s is certainly nice.
Bottom line is that I strongly reccomend this engine managment setup and the
service that accompanies it. (Get the exhaust also,it rocks!)
