They are conciderably wider than the previous fender flares we ran and since we needed to change the geometery of the suspension we had no choice as with the new ride height being 2" or more lower than we have previously ran we needed a bigger flare to cover our nasty tires.

Mike

what rims are those?

im a little curious to what coilovers are you running? Spacers? distance between strut and tire (front and rear)?

The tires are Hoosier 275/40/17 R6's on Work Emo Kai 17x9 44et. I have sedan control arms and lateral links and DMS 40mm coilovers, they are big so I need to run a 15mm spacer to get about 5mm of space from the coilover in the back and maybe 10mm in the front. We'll see how long the wheel bearings last... I think next time I'll get the 6gun 05 STi hub on a 5x100.

have you tried pulling the struts away from the tires with camber plates and kicking the tire out with camber bolts for more clearance? it would probably help you avoid using thick spacers and run longer on the bearings.

I'm planning to do the exact same set up but on my DD 03 sedan and with 275/40/17 street tires and same wheels

Yeah looks like it, mine are "Wald" brand, are they for a Lexus IS300? The fronts bolted right up, but in the rear we had to cut the small door piece and glue it to the other side for a better fit. And we needed to trim the rear door a bit for shutting clearence.

We cut, glued and sanded them then we had to paint them to cover up the work.

Thats exactly what I did, with the help of a friend who knows bodywork. He also used some mesh tape to cover the holes left from cutting then used this glue/bondo stuff to fill it in along with the crack between glued pieces.
To be honest, the hardest part of the whole thing was putting longer studs in the rear hubs for the spscers, that was a nightmare... I ended up breaking a bolt off in the rear caliper and breaking one of the a.b.s. rings, that was a long night.
Hint*** If your ever putting long studs in the rear hubs the easiest way to get them in is to port out the hole for the abs sensor to get the long studs in from the back of the hub.
