Bump because this is the only way I'd ever go to fit wider tires. I love it.

<Not a fan of sedan fenders on wagons...or sedans FTM.

You could try to find WALD INTERNATIONAL flares for the IS300, thats what mine are but they were expensive.

Understand, these IS300 flares are not a perfect fit, by any stretch of the imagination. They will require some massaging by your paint/body person.

those are not the same as the wald flares. i talked to wgnwheel a few months ago and have been searching ever since. the flares you found are marketed for pretty much every car you can type into the ebay search. but it looks like if you are compitant enough you could "easily" mod them to work.

The WALD INTERNATIONAL flares for the IS300 are very hard to find.
I would love to see a company step up and make a set for the Subarus. I guess there just isn't enough demand.

Just a FYI, the WALD ones dont fit perfectly either. The fronts went on with no modification but the backs took quite a bit of tweeking.

What I'm wondering, is would it be cheaper to get a set of rear sedan fenders and just have them cut in and welded, than getting these flares molded in?

lol. definitely not.

well, it depends really. are you better with mud, bondo, and a spray gun? or better with high heat, cutting and shaping steel, then bondo work, then a spray gun?

'cause i am! i plan on going through the rear sedan fender swap on my bugeye wagon this summer. it's been said before, the most difficult part is making the wagon bumper work with the wider fenders.

just continue your research and everything should go well.

EDIT: just realized i didn't answer your question at all...lol. if you're doing it yourself and you find the fenders off a junker. yes, it's cheaper to do this conversion, pending you already have the tools required.

This is an awesome thread. I'm wanting to throw some STi suspension and possibly steering bits under my 02, and this is an alternative to hacking up the rear fenders and putting in sedan rear fenders.

I like the sedan fronts + scion rears though.

All around everything looks awesome.

I know the gc guys use 240 flares, has anyone tried those on the wagon yet? They're easily available right now unlike the Wald.

This about a 4k project. You need the sedan doors, gas cap and rear quarter pannels. They will need to cut and molded into the wagon rear end. Not a quick or cheap fix.
Take a look at this http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1464370

I hate wagons, and normally I hate them with a passion, but this, no one can dislike something like that, looks absolutely amazing. Makes me want to buy a wagon just to do that to it.
