Arrow I'm Gonna Miss You!!! My Last Post! LONG!

Hey everyone!!! This is my last post.
I just wanted to say bye . . I have decided to remove myself from the bulletin board. What I mean to say is, I will remain on the member list and stop by to check for Impreza events from time to time, but I will no longer be posting.

It's a long story but I have been very offended twice now by the words - not the actions, just the words - of a particular boardmember/moderator (no one in this region) and have decided that, in order to retain my self-dignity and prevent myself from losing my temper, I will simply stop posting.

I have so much fun with you guys, and now when work is slow I will have nothing to do, but the thing I care the most about is being mature, and I feel if I continue to respond to everything I am interested in, agree with or disagree with, or even just post something dumb, that I will behave immaturely eventually.

I will continue to record times, and come to events, and have RenMaxi post parts notices, and do whatever I can for my fellow Southeast region members. I feel in the short time I have been here I've done a good bit for the club, and I will continue to do so, including advertise the club when I can and inform new members about it. In rare cases I may even post thru someone else, but just times and results for the autocross crowd.

I have been a nice person so long that I have decided it is time I stood for something, even if it is something as dumb as this.
I know the attitude of the board is generally, "If something offends you, good riddance" but I thought I'd let you all know because I've kinda made a few friends here . . I think.

I am still debating removing myself from the Impreza club altogether - silly as it seems. Then again, I'd miss you guys too much!! So I will be talking to you at autocrosses I guess and seeing you at the meets.

Thanks guys. Everyone here has my email address or cell number if you need anything at all.

I don't think giving up is the mature approach. You are an opinionated person and you are bound to have disagreements with others on the board. A lot of people here can be jacka$$es. Just take it in stride. If the person is a moderator and others agree with you the could be demoted. Stick around subi chick!

Well, I don't really know you but it's sad to see anyone leave the board for (in my opinion) unneeded reasons. I hope you continue to "browse" as you said, and if you want to e-mail me something to post, I would be happy to assist you.
Take care,
-Mike.

Don't mean to sound harsh... but you you'll be back. I've been doing this for a long time now and nobody ever leaves for good.

It's just a matter of time before the bug bites again and you start posting.

I say this from experience as I have personally deleted numerous people because they were completely outraged at the board.

But guess what... not a single one didn't come back.

Also... I'm completely agree with skidplatz on this one... removing yourself from the board is not the mature thing to do in this circumstance.

Conversation is only beneficial if there is conflict. If everyone here agreed and said the same thing over and over again that would be a complete travesty, and make for some really boring banter. Embrace the opinions you get here, don't run away from them.

Well, I guess that wasn't QUITE my last post.
I have to say I'm impressed with the responses I am getting, and I just wanted to make it clear that I'm not running, I'm just trying to hold my temper.
If that means not posting for a while, that's fine.
I do tend to take things to heart, and I wanted to make sure I expressed my gratitude to you guys for your support, but I also feel that I need to stand up for myself in some way.
Perhaps after a few hours, days, weeks of silence or of limited posts I will do that outloud.

Thumbs down

Subi Chic,

It sounds kinda harsh, but I have to agree with skidplatez's thoughts. In fact, if you do care about the rest of us so much, then I'm a little hurt that you give up your friends so easily.

There are a lot of a**holes in life. Every time I think I must have found all of 'em, I find more! If I stopped interacting with groups because someone in them was a jerk, I wouldn't be on this board. I wouldn't be on the VW board, either. I wouldn't race in autocrosses. I wouldn't drive on the street. I wouldn't have a job. I wouldn't watch TV. I wouldn't read magazines or newspapers or books. I think you know where I'm going!

It isn't the easiest thing to do (and I'm definitely not the model citizen!), but IMHO, the MATURE thing to do it to be a good person, be true to everyone, and do it all REGARDLESS OF WHAT OTHERS SAY OR DO!

This is all totally IMHO, of course, but I know the i-Club will be worse off without you. Please change your mind! We like you!!!

If you do still decide to leave, I understand your reasons and respect your decision. I hope we'll still see you around CFR, at least!

Cool

Hi I'm new here.

I think you just want attention because you are upset. I agree with everyone that thinks are immature. Just get over the fact that you don't agree with someone and move on.

Oh no... I wonder if I'm gonna be hated.

Subie Chick,
Please Don't go.....
Your witty responses and chearful attitude have brightened my day numerous times hear on the board.
You just have to realize and it is easy to see this board is oh, just a little Male Biased. And some of these, I'll use "Boys" get a little nervous when a Girl knows more about cars then they do. I know there is alot that you know about cars that I would guess half the guys on this board don't know. You are unique, but that makes you a target for less secure people. I agree with the others in that you should stick it out and ignore anyone who attacks you that does not truely know you. Like with most things in life people attack when they feel threatened and in a way that should make you proud of who you are.
Though the choice is yours and I will respect your decision you will always be a friend and if you need anything you have but to ask. I hope you choose to stay.

Later
Eric

well NickCat I left the board as we know it. As to if it is forever who knows.
The only place I do post is the SE forum now. The only place I read is the SE forum now. I considered leaving totally like Subi Chick but my reasons (which I am not willing to divulge) were totally different.
I will openly say that trust me on this Subi Chick... not everyone will agree with you, and some will even not like you. However the board is like a really nice and friendly neighbourhood. The majority of people are nice and helpful. In life some people are not very nice to you. Do you stop living then?

P.S. this psychology garbage does not apply to me for my reason is totally different

WELCOME TO THE BOARD Subi Chick!

Are you guys gonna think I'm really silly if I told you you guys made me cry?
Maybe the most mature thing I could do is let the person know they offended me (in a polite way) but say hey stuff happens we're all adults.
I guess what it all boils down to is that I'm sick of being everyone's doormat and I wasn't about to let someone I didn't even know push me around. Does that sound stupid?

Ok, well, I can also admit it's kinda my own fault. The more you say and the more places you say it, the more you open yourself to crticism.
NickSTi, thanks for the feedback, I think your idea is the best. I'll browse in other places, but post here only where I know you guys. That way I kinda make my point, but I don't alienate all my friends.

Chariot, I think you're talking out of your A$$ cause you don't know me, but I respect what you're saying because I can see it from that side too.
So I guess I have left the board . . in a way . . but not you guys.

Sorry if I was a baby. Geezus, I'm doing so much apologizing lately.

Wow, I came in at the end of this one. Subi Chick, while I have not talked with you before, I have to say that I am glad that you will be remaining with us. I frequently read your posts, and I have to say you seem quite funny, witty, and just an all-around nice person; it is nice to keep those around whenever we can.

Oh you post too much u subi chick u
Dont say I suggested you do that... the Imprezidents (The Man) may think I am causing an uprising

I think you are sweet that is all.
Sometimes you really have to detach yourself from your emotions to survive the Internet.

To be honest, I have no idea what happened. Well I better not if what I said was true about me not reading any other forums. But I really have no idea other than what was said in the other thread in the SE forum. I got BLASTED for my dual lights once, and my rear spats. I was hurt by the comments... you know what...I know what will make you feel better! Wrxwannabe, hit the lights. Opie... crank up the volume...

At first I was afraid
OOOOOH I was petrified
Just thinking I would post
And see you never had replied

Please dont spend so many nights
Thinking how some did you wrong
Just grow strong
And learn how to get aloooooooong

And so come back
From outer space
With a brand new topic
And a yellow smiley face
Your thread may have been locked
Even tho I didnt see
Dont let me think for one second
You'll leave the forum and meeeeee

.........

I WILL SURVIVE!

R O T F L !!!!!

Subi Chick, you've brought too much to the board to just up and leave- ever since you came along, the CFR section has really picked up and we're all beginnning to become friends because of it. Your involvement in posting about local events and goings-on is a big reason I went to Palm Bay to meet you guys. And since I got to meet you personally, I KNOW you're cool!

Stick around, I don't know what happened, but try not to be offended by people you don't know- we all have little personal gripes and bad days, maybe you just pushed the wrong button on the wrong day.

Subi Chick - I hope it wasn't me that offended you! I very much enjoy the "Florida" presence on this board and hope you stick around. Like others I mainly stick to this forum and only occasionally venture out to the others. Nothing you have ever posted has bothered me...I deleted one of your topics when you asked me to and most recently just removed some questionable images from another post. Nothing personal...I enjoy your wit both on the board and at the Florida events you attend....Please Stay!

Hmmmm.... first thing I want to do is please ask the next person who sees Nick in the flesh to give him a good, sound smack. I hope you know that song in now stuck in my head and wont, will not, refuses to go away!

Subi Chick, as you can tell from the plethora of messages nobody here wants you to leave. You do remember the "argument" I had over on the Checkpoint Two board? Well, you helped me settle that particular bit of nastiness (though most of it was my own doing... but what fun it was!).

Don't go, don' go a'changin' to suit someone else either. I've always enjoyed your spirit and enthusiasm. It would be a bit duller without you around.

Oh, keep me posted on what ya'll are going to do for the Sand Hills Rally. I didn't get out there last weekend - I cracked a couple ribs playing drunkin' football instead. But I'm going to try and cruise up there this weekend.

Do you have my email addy and/or number?

Really, I just wanna drive Carlos' car... *grin*

Regards,

Tim

Tim: Please e-mail them to me.
Everyone: WOW. Thanks for your overwhelming support. I honestly expected to hear everyone say good riddance, you're being a brat.

I will make one thing clear and then drop the topic: By choosing the name "Subi Chick", I was not emulating, trying to look or sound like, trying to steal the thunder, admirers, whatever, of anyone on the board. I chose the nick before I even knew there were other chicks/gals/women ACTIVE on the board. I want to reiterate that I have always had the utmost respect for all the other girls on the board and have always stood behind them and their achievments, and always been proud of my fellow female i-Clubbers. Though the other female members may not always show the same respect for me, I am proud to say I have and will NEVER direct any harsh or disrespectful statements toward their posts or ideas.

I'm off the soapbox now, think I'm gonna jump on the stage and sing Nick's little song.
By the way Nick, know anyone who gives lessons on how NOT to be sweet?....I need to learn how to be a Beeeeotch.

EDIT: Can I ever leave a message without spelling something wrong?

Hope it wasn't me that offended you, but like everyone else said you'll be back and opinions is what keeps this board lively. Just ignore what you don't like and carry on with the stuff yoou do like.

Remember that since people are saying thius stuff on the board and not in person it is easier for them to say stuff. i bet you they won't say that stuff in person to you.
