I'm in a position where I need to get a new(to me) spare tire / wheel, but would like to save a little weight if possible. Has anybody found a spare wheel/tire combo that will clear WRX 4/2 pots AND is lighter than the factory steel wheel? Don't care about looks, don't care if it's another OEM or aftermarket, so long as it isn't ridiculously priced.

I've been eyeing the ~15 legacy aluminum spare but can't find any data on it.

"Back in the olden days" Tire Rack used to have some cheap 15" options to clear the 4-pots. Looks like nowadays all they have in 15" is the Method wheels, which aren't cheap. There are some relatively cheap 16" wheels on TR. You could pair a 16x7" Enkei wheel + a 185/60-16 tire for $250ish, but I question whether that's going to save you any weight compared to a compact spare.
