Exclamation Buffalo Subaru Club Getting Started!!!

I am starting a Buffalo based club for Subaru's (focused on WRX). I have met with the GM of Northtown Subaru and he has agreed to discuss giving discounts on parts and service to club members. He has also agreed to discuss being a sponsor in my SCCA SOLOII racing.

Anyone in the Buffalo area interested in this great opportunity, let me know and we will look at getting our own spot in the forums section.

Take care and keep the shiny side up!

hey... im from buffalo and have thought about this also... i was just skeptical on how many cars we could get to join... although after our first auto-X, i think we could pull it off, i think we had 6 rex's there, it was great! I know there are some guys at northtown that auto-x, so hopefully we can work somthing out, forget about west-herr... i made the mistake of buying mine there, they are giving me trouble with everything.
Anywho... Ill be out at NCCC tomorrow for our 2nd auto-x, got a silver wrx sedan, my name is Tom, hope to see you there. We should have a great course tomorrow.

Me Too! I'm from the SouthTowns. My car is from West-Herr Subaru, never been to the NorthTowns place. I'd be interested in a local club, even if we were to just get together and go to the local cruise nights. PM me and let me know.

Have you thought about mixing in with us in LERSOC (Lake Erie Region Subaru Owners Club)? Most are in Cleveland. I'm in Erie and don't see why Buffalo shouldn't be in the mix. We all share the lake border, so why not a club.

i would have no problem with some type of affiliation with other semi-local clubs like this..... would be cool to have regional meets and stuff.

Talking OK, then we will have a club

Thanks for all the replies!!

I will get all your ID's together and see how we can get a semi-formal club together so that we can all benefit from each other.

By the way, the next SCCA autocross will be 7/7 at NCCC. http://www.wny-scca.org/calendar.html

I can't make it to the run due to business travel, but I know Tom will be and probably at least three or four other WRX's as well as some other older model Sube's. Should be more fun, so if you have never been, seriously consider coming by and checking it out!!

I will be in touch with everyone soon, or get in touch with me.

This could work well. Check out http://www.ryanoneil.com/forum/index.php for our forum boards. Maybe we can sweet talk Ryan into adding 'region' sections for Cleveland and Buffalo. I don't think I need an Erie one considering I'm apparently the only cool Subaru owner in Erie. I like the local-ish clubs and regional meet ideas.

Nice to see a scooby scene in Buffalo (I grew up there and moved out while in college). Being a "founding" member of LERSOC we discussed Buffalo involvement back when the club was created, Buffalo/Nia Falls is part of the reason it was called Lake Erie Region (as opposed to North Shore, or NE Ohio, etc). As for the Northtown folks, they've always been a HUGE help to me every time I'm in town visiting the folks (unlike the god awful NE Ohio dealers!!!!). You southtown guys, if you have problems with mod/warantee issues call Northtown. Anyhoo, brings a tear to my eye that back in 99 when I bought the car there was one tuned RS running around that anyone knew of... oh how things have changed. BTW, I may be up this summer (stopping in cleveland/akron first). May be an awsome idea to get a HUGE LERSOC meet together down near ski country, or maybe Fredonia or Erie (someplace in between).

It would be easy to setup a big meet in Erie. I could probably even get some support from the local dealer (New Motors). They are pretty good. We could do something at Presque Isle. If there is interest let me know. I suppose we could probably draw on those Pittsburgh folks. Actually, this could be a pretty big meet if we drew Buffalo, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh. I would need a bigger spot than Presque Isle. hmm.. there are some other groves around that I could use. Well, if there is interest, please let me know. There is a two-day charity Autocross in Erie on the weekend of August 10-11.

Hey! You guys should hang in the Tri-state Area!

Last January we drove 48hrs through the Tri-state area. We started in NJ and hit DE, Philly, Pittsburg, Erie, Buffalo (Duffs), Rochester, Adirondacks, Albany, and back down to NYC.

Definitely come on over.
