![]() The seats in my 03 wrx are just really starting to show their age. Foam is breaking down and covers are wearing thin.
I'm really wanting to replace them with some fairly new WRX or STI seats if i can just to keep cost down. I can't find anyone that has attempted this or any direction for adapters or rails that can make this work. Any help is appreciated.

![]() Is anyone aware of a new or new-ish seat that can be made to work and look decent? even if it takes adapters and other rails i'm fine with that. I just don't want to have to weld up custom brackets and fabricate parts.
I keep looking at the Recaro Speed seats but don't want to have $2500 in this project. |

![]() I would just seek out GD STi seats, shouldn't break the bank, and will give a much more updated look.
Most of the GR/VA OEM seats will need custom brackets or fabrication to fit in a GD. |

I may just look to put new foam in the drivers seat and get them re-covered. |

![]() FWIW the USDM STi seats I've had, and my Version 7 STi seats that are in my car currently, haven't broken down like all the Bugeye seats I have come across over the last few years. Seems harder to find good condition Bugeye seats than good condition STi.

![]() I put GR seats into a GD eons ago. IIRC each bracket needed to have a hole drilled into it to match the bolt patter on the seat base, but otherwise mechanically it was straightforward. Not sure on the VA-to-GD conversion though.
The airbag connector might need to be swapped over. Or maybe it was the unit itself had to be swapped so it worked correctly. All of this stuff is documented somewhere in her I believe. I had never swapped seats before and didn't find it to be any monumental challenge. |
