After purchasing my first Subaru this past July (a year ago), which was originally put together for a different customer by IA Performance I wanted the tune a little different. Stephen worked with me over the last week or so via E-Tune to get my car running even better than it was before. I would not hesitate to recommend Stephen and his E-Tune process to anyone.

Stephen hooked me up with a great tune. My car had numerous mechanical issues he helped me sort out and was super patient even when I was not. I was not the easiest customer to deal with...demanding more power, questioning his abilities, etc. He ended up doing over 20 maps to get the tune to where we were both happy. I was hoping to make 270hp and ended up with 303. Also I had Stephen plot an old log from my stage 2 protune and he took the time to explain to me why the other tune was crap (helped me read the logs and explain what stuff meant). He said that "pro"tune was taking its toll on my engine. Despite me pushing for more boost, Stephen would not turn up the wick until he was sure the engine could handle it. He is a true professional...details below (on FB it says my car is an 04...it is an 05 but the ECU thinks it is an 04 from a previous flash).

Regrets: I wish I would have went with ID 1000's vs DW 750. I got a good deal on the 750's but I don't think they are easiest thing to tune. The latency values provided by DW were WAY off.

Stephen is the man!

I just wrapped up a custom eTune with Stephen/IA Performance last week. The whole experience went well and I have never enjoyed my car more.

When I first contacted him and mentioned I was upgrading my fuel pump and injectors, he prepped me for what could be a long process getting past the infamous "GR stumble". He set expectations early, advised me on being prepared for lots of logging, maps and possibly having to modify the fuel system.

Logs were looked at and map revisions were handed off faster than I expected. Even when I lagged on replacing my FPR, we picked up again a month later like there had never been a delay. It took a while to complete the tune (mostly due to my own delays) but I would not hesitate to use IA again. Patient, prompt and professional. Great attributes for any tuner. Highly recommended!

Stephen just finished up an e-tune for me. My car is a street/auto-X car so I stayed with a TD04 but added several other bolt-ons, such as PnP everything, TGV deletes, bigger injectors, fuel pump, BCS, wideband, etc.

Had a great e-tune experience with IA Performance. If customer service and quality are important to you, this is the tuner you want to work with.

August through September, Stephen e-tuned my 4eat Forester with a 6ss rebuilt vf48 with a redesigned billet wheel. The Forester kept exemplifying signs of having vacuum leaks and Stephen did a great job of troubleshooting my issues. While I had old rubber vacuum hoses snapping in my fingers and was hunting leaks, Stephen was patient and professional while I took time to replace/seal them!

I've put around 10,000 miles on the Forester since the tune and it's running great. The car idles lower and smoother than stock and the acceleration is very smooth. Compared to the stock TD04 tune, there is barely a hint more of lag on the larger turbo.

I'm overall very happy with the experience and wouldn't hesitate to have him tune again.

I purchased an e-tune from Stephen at IAPerformance.com mainly because of a lack of tuners in my area. I am extremely happy with the way my STI runs now! He was extremely thorough in getting the right tune for my car. I actually enjoyed driving the car under full throttle, data logging the necessary info he needed.

Anyway, I would highly recommend his business, and I will go back to him for a new tune when I add more mods later this year!

Thanks to exceptional customer service, I was able to get the part I needed to get my car back on the road in time to meet a deadline. Without going into too much detail, this was not as easy as it sounds. It involved overcoming a mix-up introduced by a third party and required Stephen to go above and beyond what I would consider the standard level of service in order to ensure that the part actually made it to me in time.

Ordered the avcs bulkhead and engine harness along with a few sets of gaskets this past weekend. The order took 2 days to process and as a result, won't show up until Monday. I had my engine swap scheduled to be done Saturday and set to go get tuned this upcoming Tuesday. I placed the order last Friday at 7am and they couldn't get it out same day so now I'm screwed. Thanks IA Performance :/

**UPDATE: Called UPS and they say they can't do anything to expedite the order. So yeah 100% screwed. Should of went JSC Speed or RallySportDirect for my gaskets. At least that way I could do the majority of my engine swap and worry about the AVCS on Monday. Well I guess I'm ordering 100 dollars worth of gaskets from JSC so my weekend isn't entirely worthless**

f3arOn - It saddens us to hear expectations fell below satisfactory and we hope to assist to correct this. The following are details pertaining to the order:

3/21 5am, (Friday) order received

3/21 6:50am, Paypal partial refund sent for price reduction on oil filter.

3/22 9am, (Saturday) email sent alerting delay in shipment due to missing AVCS Engine harness

3/24 7pm, (Monday) 2 boxes shipped with tracking details

Despite the 1 day delay, the parcels still departed the very next business day, Monday. If alerted of the deadline, either by phone or email, then the shipping speed could have been sped up to meet the deadline. Alas, this is the first we're hearing of it.

A Private Message will arrive shortly regarding the contents of each box. This may help assist with collecting missing parts to still make the weekend assembly deadline. We're more than happy to take back any or all pieces and offer a full refund. No need for that Stephen. You have been very helpful with my countless inquiries up to this point. Even if the product arrived on Friday, it would not change anything. Unfortunately I just found out that the clutch and flywheel ordered on Friday will also not arrive until Monday. Therefore it is not fair for me to place this blame and or expectation solely on you. I'm just having a streak of bad luck where everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. I appreciate your prompt response however. It shows your genuine concern for customer satisfaction. It does not go unnoticed

If its that important to you, you should plan ahead. Blaming anyone other then yourself for not getting an order in that amount of time is insane. Im sure you have problems like this frequently.

Furthermore, your negative adaptations do nothing to support the purpose of this thread in any way. Please do everyone on this forum a favor and keep these type of comments to yourself. He was perfectly correct in his statement: you cut it too close. Two days to process isn't outlandish, and it certainly isn't their fault that your whole build schedule revolved around these gaskets.

Given how time critical it was, you should have at least called them and told them of your need, I would imagine they would have either accommodated you or advised you they couldn't get it there fast enough.

Do not tell a member who is politely advising you of your mistake that they reflect badly on NASIOC, especially when they have been here for ten years.

WORTH EVERY PENNY! I have a 04 WRX 18G turbo 650cc injectors and catless system and other mods, Stephen did a fantastic job with setting my car up and now I have one beast of a WRX! With the COBB v3, Stephen and IAPERFORMANCE was able to get my car into a drivable state within the first map, from there we went back and forth with maps and datalogs and in no time I saw my car improving map after map. Stephen was always there for me via email or phone whenever I needed something or had a dumb question haha, the quality of service was excellent and I will be HIGHLY RECOMMENDING this to anyone that needs tuning done. If your reading this and thinking about having your local dyno tuner tune your vehicle or do an e-tune STOP THINKING save your time and money and go with IAperformance you will not be disappointed I know I'm not!
