Default 2015 2.0 Mods

So I traded my 2014 WRX in for a 2015 Impreza base to get low payments and good MPG as I enter med school.

What are some easy garage mods that may make it sound better or any secret "deletes" that may make it a little more fun to drive.

Let me know what you guys think so far, I have de-badging and tinting and some LED bulbs coming.

Any ideas are appreciated!!
😊

no power mods out there worth investing in, but you can always go to a local exhaust shop and have them cut out the factory muffler and weld in something else, maybe a glasspack or similar.

suspension parts will make it fun to drive and a decent set of tires make a big difference.

Cosmetic stuff is a personal preference, but tint and debadging is a nice start!

THROTTLE HAPPY TUNE. I've yet to do it, butt I've gotten a reply from him:
[i][/IHey Michael
YEs, no problems tuning the CVT FB20 engine in your car

You only need a tactrix OP2.0 from www.tactrix.com and I can walk you through the software process

My pricing is AUS$250 which at current exchange rate is around US$165 and entitles you to free retunes for life of the car

Tactrix device aproximately $169 (?)

I don't think this is such a "bad" investment..... For a Tune, however this adds up as I'd naturaly like to upgrade suspension and exhaust to match the change in performance. I must say, just the upgrade of 19mm RSB and SSD frontower strut, makes a very noticeable increase in the quality of the ride I literally LOVE driving into turns now stepping on the gas rather than the brake!.

(Cut and paste from something I put in another thread, hope it helps)

There's not much you can really do to an Impreza to up the horse power without spending lots of money (http://www.mrtperformance.com.au/per...eza-XV-MY12-on).

There are things you can try to make it more fun to drive though:

Larger rear sway bar
http://subaruonlineparts.com/subaru-...ay-p-2163.html

replace the stock air filter with a K&N one
http://www.knfilters.com/search/apps...za&engine=2.0L

Put a light weight pulleys on the engine
http://perrinperformance.com/i-13324...x-fa-fb-engine.
http://perrinperformance.com/i-18067...-fr-s-brz.html

Replace stock tires with performance tires from whatever brand floats your boat

Use CUSCO chassis bars to stiffen up the body
http://www.cusco.co.jp/en/catalog/chassis_bars.html

Get a tune from ThrottleHappy
https://www.facebook.com/Throttle.Ha...rofile_browser
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2658018

Exhaust wise, it is my understanding that the stock BRZ exhaust fits with only minor modification, this then gives the impression that any after market BRZ exhausts will also fit

Are there any cold air intakes that can be put on?

Nothing worth the lack of HP gains. Better off with either a K&N or AEM drop in filter.

Default Rear Sway Bar Install?

Hi all, New here to the forum and just got my first Subaru 2015 Impreza Sport Premium 2.0i with CVT. I originally wanted the MT 5 Speed but wife does not know how to drive stick so had to settle. I absolutely LOVE this car! Naturally looking into minor performance upgrades starting with 19mm Rear sway bar. I've searched thouroghly on the forums on how to install but couldn't find any pics. Any member kindly point me into the right direction on how to install is highly appreciated. From what I understand so far is that the car does not need to be on a lift when swapping the bar. Also what tools would I need? And do they nuts need to be torqed to a certain spec? Sorry for the rant but not too mechanically inclined but I feel this is something I'm capapble of doing if I just know how to do it. Thanks All.

It's really pretty simple. You'll need the car on some kind of lift just due to the ride height, but the car needs to be on the weighted suspension, so you either have to jack and the suspension jack points, or put it on ramps of some kind. Other than that, just look at how the sway bar you currently have is attached (your car should have a 15mm sway bar stock). There are two bolts on each end of the bar that connect it to the endlinks, you'll need to loosen and unfasten the sway bar from these. There are also two retention plates that have two bolts each, which attach the sway bar to the chassis itself and hold the bushings in place. You'll need to loosen and remove these, then you can remove the sway bar. Re-install in the same way you uninstalled the bar, using the appropriate bushings (they and size specific). If you search the 12+ Impreza thread (same basic car) and the "modding the 12+ impreza thread", you should find the torque measurements. They were something like 22 and 24 ft-lbs. Shouldn't really matter in the end as long as they aren't dramatically over-torqued or under-torqued.

So anything from 2012-2014 fits? And I was wondering if I change my rear swaybar to the 19mm and add lowering springs or coil overs will that void my warranty?

Don't see why it would because as far as I know it, the base doesn't come with a rear sway bar. The springs on the other hand might, but it's a simple swap at least.

you cant void a warranty.... you can only introduce parts that may cause a claim to be denied due to those parts you installed. you cant install coilovers then have one break and expect subaru to replace your coilover... you decide to put in aftermarket radio and amps... dont expect subaru to help if your radio stops working. That wont mean they will not support the other parts you have not messed with. Mod at your own risk. a swaybar change has very little chance of causing warranty issues.

edit: just read this sticky: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=803106

Im actually on the same page, i had a 2015 wrx couple of months ago but i wrecked the car due to an accident and now i ended up getting the impreza base 5door. Im actually planning on modifying the car, but not putting as much as money. My plans are improving the suspension, getting the exhaust done, and rims. Im wondering whats available aftermarket for it. And what everybody told me is hard to find parts for it and no much of gains. So options are custom made or wait til some parts comes in the future. But i also heard that 2013 to 14 are just the same body with the 15, but i dont know if its true. Im still doing some reasearch about this car.

AVO just released a turbo kit for the XV. They confirmed it will fit the Impreza as well.

Did you buy the grille with the red highlight or did you do that yourself? If by yourself what did you use?

wow, seen any XVs with this mounted up/dyno pulls or the like? I'd be interested to see numbers vs cost, especially without a WRX hatch coming anytime soon...
