My Pioneer (F700) had a hardware and a software bypass method - but it's a couple years old now. I *think* they are still "bypassable" though.

.... Hello?
Yes, this is dog.

Default Accident

Hey guys. Unfortunately I got into an accident today. The tires on the wheels I have on are almost gone. I was coming from Ames getting onto the I-35 on-ramp. Wasn't going that fast, rear tires started breaking loose. I tried to correct but ended up sliding into a really deep ditch. Hit a post and barbed-wire fence. I had to call my insurance company and get a tow to wench it out and tow it back to Des Moines.

Fortunately the car is still drivable. I'm definitely putting on new tires this week. I am okay btw. No injuries or anything. It really, really surprised the bejeebus out of me. I was pretty scared at first. Good thing I work in Nationwide claims, so I understand the procedures/processes. Here are a few pics.

It's mainly the front bumper that will need replaced, driver's side doors, side skirts, and I will ask for new headlights since one of them popped out and won't go back in. My question to you guys are, where is a reputable body shop? I took it to Scotty's downtown Des Moines last time, and I was really happy. Now, being the broke college student I am, I want to know if there is a place that will waive/lower my deductible and will be able to order me new parts and possibly re-spray some body parts. I may even ask to fill in the holes in my trunk and re-spray. Please give me all opinions. I am open ears. Call or PM me if you have my number. Thanks everyone.

I'll post pics up once I get it repaired.

Is this a Subie meet or just a general car meet?

Sounds like a general car meet - but I might be game for crashing it with a bunch of other Subies if anyone else is interested.

Edit: could just make the final "check point" for the Spools meet at BWW in Coralville.

Cory that sucks! You know, my car has been through a barbed wire fence too. I know how that goes. Fun dents and scratches deeper than you can imagine... this took place before I received the car tho.

I would be up for a meet usually, but I'm trying to save money on gas.

Sorry to hear about your accident Cory. How bald are your tires? I've never had problems with bald tires but then again I prefer sliding around through corners.

It wasn't bad outside of downtown. I think off Ronald Regan highway in Dekalb it was $3.75. I just had to fill up before leaving downtown after driving around on Saturday, unfortunately. It really makes you appreciate having open space here in Des Moines.
