advise/opinions on an air duct setup
i have a bugeye wrx and theres an aps CAI on it, pulling from the passenger side fender well. i removed the fog light so there was a hole to feed the filter with air. after i thought about it, theres probably no air really getting through that hole because its surrounded by flat surfaces which are probably creating turbulence areas and not allowing air to get into the hole as effectively as it can. so is there a type of velocity stack or air duct type deal i can shove on there? im not really interested in those flexible air duct things. kinda useless in my opinion for this situation. what do you got in mind!

i got in mind that this same thing has been done since 2002 here and if you LOOK around you will see dozens of variations
just dont drive through standing water and let it suck it up and kill the motor |

I see velocity stack type deals but I'm not sure how it would mount into the hole? I carry the OEM airbox in the trunk if rain comes

Do what I saw someone at a meet do, run a 3.5 inch pipe through, yes THROUGH your headlight back, don't even worry about a filter, just go straight pipe. There was also a one inch gap on the back end of the pipe.
I think he said he was in the process of fixing that gap in the back side, but the hole in the light is what I got a kick out of. |

Christ on a bike. People have been doing ghetto fabulous air mods here since 2001 and exactly ZERO of them add horsepower or torque. Think of something else the next time you are on the toilet taking a ****.

I agree with you. Maybe, "dropping a ****".
Some ****ed up individual probably used to carry his **** around with him and now we have the term "taking a ****". |

Some camping/hiking places are no s*** zones. You gotta "take" it with you.
A rafting outfit in Buena Vista gives you a plastic bag if you gotta go, then they tie it to your life jacket for transport. No S*** |

Dude, just take off the front bumper skin and fender liners so the CAI can really breathe.
Its very important that as much air flow around the intake as possible, if you search you will hear tons of horror stories about WRX's that don't have enough air holes punched into the front of them. Before you know it, BOOM, busted tranny. |
