Default clarion autopc....?

I doubt anyone actually has one of these, but I figured I'd try...

I can't get the damn thing to turn on, and before I rip it out to bring it to an electronics guy, I figured I'd ask if anyone has ever had this problem. The only fuses I've tried is the one next to my left knee when driving and the one that connects to the main brain of the cd player. I tried resetting it by unplugging the battery. Still nothing...

If someone actually has one of these that'd be great, because I dont want to have to pull my seat out, half of my carpet, dash, etc. just to get it to turn on again.

Is that the older clarion or did they come out with a new generation? Before ripping anything out, I would test if your constant (yellow) and the ignition wire (red) and black (ground) were connected properly by using a test light on those connections.

If they are, then maybe you can rip it out -=)

I just started researching them this week.....

Are you sure that it doesn't need to be reset? There is a reset button on it somewhere.

maybe something from this search will help.

side note....

How do you like it?
Does the microphone pick up your voice easily?
Does the auto volume work?
GPS........is it a map display or just longitude/latitude? Does it speak the directions to you while you are driving?

I'm thinking of getting one. I just want to make sure that I don't get something that was a "good idea", but the end result wasn't that good.

What has impressed, and annoyed, you most about this unit?

MAN I'm a tool. I obviously tried this once but on a hunch I figured before pulling it out I should try it again. I jiggled the crap out of the wires. Then I pulled them out and jammed them back in twice as hard. Boom. It turned on...lol I guess it just worked itself loose over time.

As for the autopc:

I love the damn thing
As long as the volume isn't loud, then it picks up on your voice pretty easily (mic is attached to ceiling)
The volume works as well as just saying, "Autopc, volume, (quiet, normal, or LOUD)" -all three in which you can preset to a specific volume
GPS is one of the lesser used aspects of it. I have a program that draws lines of everywhere I've driven, but the GPS alone pretty much just displays Lat/Long, which probably aren't even dead on.

Its definetly a neat toy. Its been mine for 3 years now, and has been in the family for 6. Thats pretty damn old for a CD player, but the chicks still love it. There are many things out there if you look that you can install on it to make it interesting. I have blackjack, a screen saver program, and of course the sexy female voice.

The one thing I hate is that even though its great its a pain to remove and install. The mainbrain is under a seat, the mics through the ceiling, the GPS reciever is all the way up by my window, and the CD player is well where it goes. So basically out of laziness I am incapable of selling it.

some more random cool things about it: Voice recognition obviously, EQ presets along with other audio settings, voice memos, the ability to download stuff for it, and most of all the fact I can show it off and even though I've had it since I was in middle school it still seems to impress everyone.
