Default AEM cold air intake installed

Hi,

After purchasing the AEM CAI for my WRX in a GB last month - a Christmas present - I finally took the plunge this afternoon and installed it.

The most I've ever done before now is change the oil on my car so this was definately a step up the challenge ladder for me. I read and re-read the instructions about 10 times prior to starting work on it, and was surprised at how simple it was. Total time to install: a little over 2 hours.

I took the car for a 12-mile run after I finished and boy, what a sound that turbo and [stock] BOV make now. Having only covered 12-miles post install, my only other observations are that the car seems to pull stronger and smoother much sooner than before (say 500 rpm sooner) and keeps going strong up to the redline.

Now all I have to do is find a bloody big box to store all the black plastic stock intake stuff that I pulled out of my WRX.

Cheers everybody!

David

No, I did not notice any loss of power at the low end. As I said in my initial post, the car feels as if it picks up speed a little sooner than before - about 500rpm sooner in my opinion. If I notice any change in this feeling over the coming days and weeks, I'll post back here.

Cheers!

I got pegboard in my garage. All the stuff that comes off the car goes on there....that way, when I drink and think about the money I spend, I look up on the wall and see all that money sitting there.

Soon there will be a set of stock struts.
