Default stock usdm sti turbo on wrx?

correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't the usdm sti turbo a vf-39?

couple more questions, i was wondering if this can be a direct replacement for the stock wrx td04 turbo? i'm assuming it'll go right in w/o ANY modification. we know the up and dp will mate to it, but are there any other issues, such as the coolant line and oil line and heat sheild, etc?

one more thing, what kinda gain can you expect with a vf-39 on a wrx?

i'm asking all this cuz i'm assuming we're going to start seeing these turbo in the classified soon for cheap....like wrx turbos for 100 bux

yes its a VF39, and no its not a direct bolt on, but its real close. There was a thread on this a couple of days ago. just do a search for "VF39" and youll find out everything you need to know.

The VF-39 is direct bolt on and it's almost the same as a VF-30. If you want info on running it on a WRX ask Imprezd, he's been running a VF-39 for a while. I don't think they will ever be $100, they will continue to run about the same price as a used VF-30.
