So on Friday night I was driving in the highway and I got on it next to my boyfriend and when I up shifted from 4th to 5th gear my car backfired and it shot a flame.... On Saturday night I was trying to do it again but it would only backfire (noise) with no flame :/

I stopped at the gas station on the highway for gas,
Me: can I pump my own gas please?
Kid that worked at the gas station: sure I don't care!
Me: thanks!
Kid: yours?
Me: yea
Kid: shook his head up and down and said nice! Wanna race?
Me: what do you have?
Kid: don't worry about it!!!!

Kid: When did u get it?
Me: a year ago, its a year old!
Kid: did u buy it like this or did u do all the work?
Me: I did! Well he did (as I pointed to my boyfriend!)
Kid: how much boost?
Me: close to 23
Kid: nice

I started talking to my boyfriend saying I was really trying to shoot a flame again but it wasn't working. So the kid interrupts...

Kid: well with an exhaust like that its always gonna backfire going downhill!
Me: I was going uphill; that's when it backfired with a flame.
Kid: nice! Downshift!?
Me: no upshift!
Kid: wow nice... Flames are always good!!!

So I'm in college and every year there this big end of the year party that's off campus. (So you don't *actually* have to go to school here to attend) I live in Wooster, Ohio so anything off campus is pretty much corn, dirt, cows, or soybeans.. so anyway, we happen to be in dirt and a kid who assaulted up my friend to steal his drugs last year comes up to me and starts apologizing for what he did. Yeah yeah whatever. He sees my car.

Kid: whoa I didn't ee'n know you had that tight whip!
Me: yeah I got it only a little while before you left.
Kid: whoaaaaa. I bet that things hella quick doe!
Me: 300hp/350tq its fast but I'm not setting any land speed records.
Kid: I bet you got some sweet parts on there! Where do you get them?
Me: Mostly from the forums and Craigslist. I'm too poor to buy new things. Hah.
Kid: Awwww man! You should try eBay! They got hella cheep stuff doe. I been f***ing wit eBay for hella long but I ain't ee'r got car parts but ee'rythang's so cheep! Can't beat that ya feel?

I didn't "feel" and that swiftly ended our conversation.

*Edit: looking back on it, I'm not sure he even knew it was a Subaru.

When I'm ready to make a purchase, I always check ebay. I think it was pretty sound advice. I've purchased a set of Tokico shocks for less than I could find anywhere else, as well as a brand new OEM V7 STI scoop for $100. It's a great place to look for good deals.

It isn't backfire, it's after fire.....

Anyways, I was walking into Panera on my lunch break and a middle aged Hispanic guy is sitting there with his wife. He just casually says "subarus suck," without looking up. As I was leaving I saw him get into a mini van and laughed my ass off.

This happened to me not too long ago, I was at. Stop light with my window down and some old guy have me a thumbs up and told me I have a beautiful car, then once while I was pumping gas I had a guy come up to me and asked me if it's really my car (I have a 2002 Wrx) mind you, it has two pink stickers on the back windshield, I rolled my eyes and said yes it's mine, asked me if it was turbo, again, rolled my eyes, and said yes it is. Then once he was done pumping gas said he wanted to check it out, so i opened the driver side door, and said now you believe it's mine? My dash/ door cards are pink, he said he couldn't believe it and that you don't see many girls driving cars like these. Makes me feel proud to own my car

You rolled your eyes because he asked if it was turbo'd?

How kind.

There was a group of "gangsters" in the Burger King parking lot all gathered together so I decided to give them some exhaust love. Cars baud went off and all you here is pop pop pop just like gunshots and they all get down and someone yelled "**** *****!" Pretty much lost it after that.
