Default EqualizerCS’s Aspen White Ride

I am registered here since three days and I directly want to introduce myself. My name is Dennis, I am 32-years old and from Germany. Since many years I was just a quiet reader caused by my first STI ownership and I guess now it was time to registrate an account to write with some Subaru enthusiats from oversea. I am also registered in some german and british communities but here are a lot of more Subaru owners to talk with.

My current ride is a well cared, aspen white painted Hawkeye STI. The car was registered first in June, 2007 and had only two previous owners. I bought it end of April, 2017 with a low mileage of 44.500 miles in Coventry, UK. The Subaru is in a very astonishing condition. The chassis is nearly rustfree, I just found some usual signs of 10-years usage. The paintwork is in a completely original and flawless shape.

I was searching for an unmolested, forged, well serviced and especially accidentfree example and it wasn't that easy to find a perfect one. Not in Germany and even not in Great Britain. For me it is my third right-hand drive car and meanwhile I have driven much more kilometers in RHD than LHD cars, although I am a german guy. It doesn't matter on which side the steeringwheel got mounted.

I thought the same thing that is why I clicked on this thread to see if it was just a language barrier issue.

Here are some informations regarding my last done modifications.

The car was equipped with genuine dampers and Prodrive springs. The springs weren't street legal here in Germany and I decided to invest in some daily driving friendly coilovers.

I ordered a ST Suspension X. The build quality is great and I am really satisfied with the ride quality, too. I adjusted the coilovers 10 mm higher after six months because it was to low.

The car had still an original head unit when I bought it. For an electronical music enthuatist this thing had to be gone as fast as possible. Now a Sony WX-900BT is installed. It has no touch screen. From my point of view for a real drivers car it is just better to concentrate on driving.

I was very impressed about it's sound quality but I was a little bit confused because my former MY03 WRX STI had worse genuine speakers. I have directly taken off the door panels and found perfect dimmed isolated doors and some aftermarked speakers. Within the next months I will install better ones and maybe a little amp.

I have also spent some money for new front brake discs and pads. Due to the fact that I drive my STI everyday I needed some brakes that will work from the first second on. In the past I was very impressed while using Tarox Zero discs but without driving on tracks they are already a *little overkill. I decided to go with some Brembo Xtra discs this time in addition of Ferodo Premier pads.

This was a well decision and I am very satisfied with this setup. No fading problems and no big noises while braking although the discs are drilled. When the pads need to be replaced maybe I will buy some higher performance ones again but normally I would say that it isn’t needed at all.

I changed the title. My mobile changed the right word to the wrong one

Many thanks, yes sometimes it is a lot of fun but to be serious, the traffic on german streets sucks. A lot of our streets are in a bad condition because the state didn't spend enough money within the last years. Furthermore in our high populated areas are too much cars on our streets and our Autobahn's haven't enough space for such a hugh amount.
