![]() I have a gs tmic, wondering what the power differences would be if I switched to a front mount ic. Currently fbo, stage 2 block and fp blue

![]() Were you sitting in on your tune? What was your first pull like before your tuner had to dial it back to account for the intercooler heat soaking. It'd be somewhere around there because the purpose is to cool down more thanks to the surface area. That's what I was told by my tuner. For me, that would net me like 15-20 wheel horsepower on full stage 3 with GS TMIC as well.

![]() If you make the upgrade, you should go ahead and take the opportunity to add the IBR BRZ manifold kit to optimize the power for going front mount. That's how I would justify it at least

![]() You should be able to determine if you really need to go FMIC by logging your IM temperature delta against pre-turbo temps.

![]() The GS TMIC will climb on the manifold side during a pull pretty well on your setup. I swapped a FP Blue ethanol car with a GS TMIC to an ETS FMIC and made some decent power and huge consistency on the manifold side. I'll see if I can find the graph.

![]() Personally i monitor iat and imt all the time on my ap, out of 6. And i have a gs tmic. I’d start by monitoring your iat chosen or ign comp to see how much timing if any you have pulled. Then go from there, consider next how much timing if any and how important it is to have 100% timing all the time.
Not that critical to me, glad i went gs tmic. Even at imts of 160 after heat soak (highest rec 167f) it lowers to 20f over iats within 30sec of driving or some boost. But off a red light it may pull up to 5 deg until 30sec into moving or iats<104f. |

![]() GS TMIC has a water meth bung right before the throttle body, just hook up a small jet to lower your charge temps.
Keep the short boost pipes and keep your front crash bar all while outperforming a FMIC. |

![]() My only concern with that setup is the water/meth could corrode the throttle body butterfly valve over time. You definitely need to make sure to clean it regularly if you put the jet before the throttle body like that.

Throttle body cleaning is a nuisance of the W/M system so pick your poison I guess. There are pros and cons to all approaches, personally I'll stick with my GS TMIC as is because it does the job for me. My car made 349 whp with it which is all I wanted out of the stock motor/trans/turbo. |

![]() Thanks for the input guys, I ended up switching to a ets fm and a ibr brz manifold, I’m waiting for the flex fuel kit and killer b ewg header to come in and ill do it all at once. I’ll post a dyno in the dyno thread probably early to mid December
