Hi guys, I have a 2015 WRX Limited. I had the dealer add on the STi performance exhaust, which got installed about 4 days after I took delivery of the car. The exhaust sounds pretty good - I have to say it is quieter than I expected but nice sounding. One thing thats bugging me is the tips aren't pushed very high up and I'm wondering whether this is something common with the sti exhaust or if the dealer just didn't adjust it right. Should I have them move the tips up?

This is the only picture I have at the moment.

Thanks for your help

There was another user in this thread that had that same issue with the SPT exhaust. I believe he ended up heating up the hangers and changing the bends.

Thanks for your reply, I will search for the post. Will there be any issues from heat if I do move it closer like warping the plastic? I suppose the stock exhaust is a lot closer so probably alright.

I will most likely have the dealer fix it as I have to stop by there to pick up my stock exhaust later this week.

If I recall the user who had issues, they took the car to a performance shop to have it adjusted. I think they used blocks of wood to hold the exhaust in place as adjustments were made. I think they also used some polyurethane hangers. You can get those from COBB, Perrin, or Kartboy. I will be getting this exhaust as well for my 15 STI. I was planning on doing a TBE but now with all the issues other owners are having with engine failure and warranties, I figured I'd play it safe.

Any chance you would be able to share some sound clips? I've been searching for months for a "fairly quiet" TBE setup (whatever that means). I basically just don't want it to sound obnoxiously loud when I'm daily driving.

I've been told that the main component for noise reduction when doing a TBE would be to choose a quiet(er) cat-back portion and that generally all j-pipes would produce about the same amount of noise (i would be doing a high-flow cat). Anyway, I'm rambling now.

So far it sounds like the Cobb Cat-back is fairly quiet. Not really sure about the rest. Would def be interested to hear the Perrin in a turbo-back setup!

Good info thanks. I will see what the dealer says today(I'm guessing they won't be able to do anything that doesn't use oem parts).

When deciding on the catback portion of my exhaust I was looking for one that would be as quiet as possible. I narrowed my searches to Cobb and Perrin. Based on sound clips I found on the net I went with the Perrin. It's really mellow, with lots of bass. Love it. If you roll up the windows and drive conservatively you won't even notice it. Honestly, after the installation, to me the car drives much smoother. No regrets whatsoever. I will try to get you some sound clips when I can.

Where are all these engine failure's you are talking about? Are you talking about just STI or WRX or both? Just curious. I have an AP on the way for my WRX.

I just placed my order for the Nameless Performance muffler delete axle back with 3.5", staggered, double wall tips.

It was definitely a bit pricey for something that's only a set of straight pipes with shiny tips but from what I've been hearing, reading, and seeing I know the quality will be worth it. I was told by Nameless the lead time is estimated at only three weeks (since they are in the slow season I would imagine) not the 3+ months we saw last summer.

If you want one, get on it!

OMG! That beer koozie is sweet!

Did you order the gasket/hardware set separately or did the axle back come with it?

Thanks for the good news. It slipped my mind to order the hardware set when I just ordered mine. I guess I don't need to worry about it then.

I've seen a few cases on a FB page for 15 owners. Both STI and WRX. I'm sure that some of the cases have to do with driving like a jerk off or running parts with a OTS map not meant for those parts. Some cases are just simple defects.
