Just installed a Cobb catback today. Build quality is excellent. Gaskets that were supplied weren't the best. They were flaking and when I tried to open the one little bag one gasket was in I bent it in half lol. Still worked fine. One muffler sticks out a little farther than the other one but they are perfectly centered. Overall I am very happy, doesn't sound to bad either. Just waiting to get a J-pipe.

There have been a lot more sti's than wrx's with engine failures, not even taking into account how many more wrx's there are on the road than stis.

We did a poll on fb. I think there were 4 wrx failures out of 140 people who responded and 11 sti failures out of less than 50 stis

Hey I'm really interested in knowing more and reading about these failures and what happened/caused them. Would you be able to provide a link on FB to learn more?
Thanks!

Usually always is the sti folks blowing their engines around here. It happens when people choose not to listen the people telling them "No! Don't add Part A without doing Part B and preparing for X to happen."

Or bad luck.

But not really.

I found a local guy selling a Nameless axleback (muffler delete - 3" tips (rather have 3.5" tips but for the price I couldn't pass) - Staggered - Double Wall) with 2k miles on it for real cheap!

Haven't installed it because of snow/rain/snow/cold weather

I picked it up last Friday.

It's really crazy that the 3.5", double walled tips raise the price by $175. The 4" tips even cost less money but they're just too big IMO. Sounds like you got a good deal. I wouldn't have passed it up either.

I will be installing my muffler delete rain, snow, or shine. I can't wait for it to arrive.

I recently ordered the nameless axle back muffler delete with 3 inch staggered double wall tips and was afraid it would be a very long wait. To my surprise, it delivered in 3 weeks flat. Ordered it 3 Thursdays ago, and got it yesterday.

I had some questions regarding installation so I spoke to the live chat on their website and I was told that that is the most commonly ordered (thus most commonly fabricated) setup. So if anyone is still looking to get a nameless axleback muffler delete, that is the setup to go with if you don't mind it!

Installing tomorrow, but I might end up ordering the 4inch muffler setup instead if the sound is too raspy or loud for my taste.

It's suppose to warm up so maybe in the next few days I will install it.

Food for thought. If you do find it too raspy, trade your stock midpipe for the stock midpipe from a 2015 STi. That will add a resonator, and clean up/quiet down the deletes a bit. Did this to a friend of mine's car, it is helped a lot.

Yeah waiting for mine to be shipped.

Question: do you know if you need exhaust hangers for the Q300?

It sounds very well, the exhaust is not overly loud. I knew it wouldn't be that's why I bought it. Plus it is just a cat back so its not going to sounds crazy. I am going to get a cobb catted j-pipe when they have more available. The tone is very nice. I wasn't looking to be as loud or obnoxious as my bugeye was(catless). It is louder when driving under actual Load then just revving the engine. If people are interested in a video I can try and make one.

I installed my Nameless deletes today. I will likely switch to a Nameless TBE with 4" mufflers in the future. This is my first turbo and first four cylinder car so I didn't know what to expect as I am used to NA V8s and NA I6s which are much louder. I don't think axleback muffler deletes are loud at all, obviously this is very subjective but I feel most videos make them sound louder than they really are. I like the sound but the volume could be higher. For me I think the volume of a TBE with 4" mufflers would be perfect as it takes that edge off the deletes but you get more volume from deleting the cats/resonator off the J pipe.
