I haven't had a single issue yet. I have driven past a few cops and by the millions of cops who have to be standing around doing nothing at construction work zones and no issues. It's definitely loud but it sounds sooooo good at WOT.

If you ever want to hear it feel free to meet up. It may not be everyones cup of tea so it could be good to listen to it before you decide to go for it. I figured for 500 bucks if I didn't like it I could just save it for times of the year I feel like being obnoxious. But it passed my girlfriends test and it's definitely staying on. Once the downpipe and midpipe go on we'll see if it's then too loud.

Looks good!

The DP will make it retarded loud if you have a muffler delete. During cold days when the car cold starts and idles at 2k rpm, I have to yell if I'm talking to someone outside of the car.

I may take you up on that, perhaps I will head to your place of employment at my next service interval. I was warned about mine for service

Please do not buy an eBay jpipe... For the sake of your car.

Does it matter that the cat is well beyond the 2nd o2 sensor? It's set up like a test pipe, having the 2nd o2 sensor offset from the pipe, and a cat there just to pass a visual inspection.

So the budget exhaust so far is. .
Deporacing catted j-pipe $325
Cnt catback $ 575

$900 is what a bunch of bent pipe is worth to me anyway.

Now if you could put that "cheap" j pipe next to a $600 pipe and tell me the difference.... Just like CNT next to Invidia

Default 2015 WRX/ STi exhaust options

Yea but a catback has no sensors or valuable components
Such as a cat, I would happily throw on a CNT. But I would mate it to a quality JP

To each their own

As Simple said, a catback is just a pipe. The only thing that can be bad with it is exhaust leaks.

A cheap jpipe on the other hand, can have bad fitment to your turbocharger, not so high flow "high flow" cat, and/or bad fitment with the o2 sensors.

I've seen some pretty nightmarish looking eBay downpipes and some good quality ones as well. The problem for me is paying to find out which one you get.

Has anyone had issues with the Tomei Expreme Ti rattling or sounding too raspy when running a catless dp?

Welp, I'm gonna give the mishimoto cbe a go, when they're ready to ship that is.

I've never tried any of their products, but for about $875 and some change for the presale price, this will be a good time as any to give their products a go.

I just ordered a catted Invidia j-pipe and plan to mate it to my 2014 Cobb CBE.

Cobb recommends using their Cobb TBE, the stock intake, one of their Stage 2 maps, and removal of the "pill". Also for this project I've acquired spare turbo to J-pipe studs & nuts plus new gaskets.

(Cobb TBE exhausts may ship about the same time the '16 WRX is available!)

TBE requirements: http://www.cobbtuning.com/Subaru-Acc...5-Stock-Intake

Pill removal: https://cobb.box.com/541331instructions

A downpipe will make your current set up into a turboback exhaust. The sti exhaust should just be a catback exhaust (CBE), so you should just need to add in a downpipe of whichever manufacturer you prefer.

any running Q300 with invidia catted DP?

Installed the q300 and it's a little too quiet and want to wake it up a bit. Want to know if installing the DP will make any difference in sound, or should I drop the q300 and go with another TBE?

the catted dp will make it louder. a straight through pipe will be a little louder than that. just remember once you install a full turbo back you'll need a tune so if you're just looking for sound you may want to choose another exhaust without mufflers.

Sure thing! I respect the tech's here. Few have them have been working on subaru's for 20 years and the others are very good and I let any of them touch my car.

Those of you that have nameless exhausts. Do the 3 in tips look ok in the cutouts or is it worth it to get the 3.5 in. I'm having a hard time justifying the 175 bucks for tips. I really wish they would get the single wall 3.5 tips In but I just don't think it's gonna happen (I've been waiting over 2 months for them to)
