![]() Here is the progress of my Spoolinator GTX3076r setup: Sent the turbo off to Turbo Re-source, and guess what it was within spec! OMG!!! Not really a surprise at all, my tuner was skeptical and/or profitable. No harm in my book...(sigh).
Anyways here some brief pics of the progress thus far: ![]() ![]() This is all being done at InFront Automotive in Auburn, Washington. They have been super short-handed with mechanics; I dropped it off a week before Thanksgiving and they are still not done as of this writing---though John, owner head mechanic/tuner knows this set back well in the terms of his business. Why I am patient: John is a learned EFI tuner for 12+ years----and then he decided that he didn't know enough and got EFI University accredited. Spoolinator Kit Install: They stated that they never had to grind so much damn metal off the block and transmission bell housing ever before. Afterwards, I saw the results and agreed that the turbo is super low fitting and in a very compact position. I applaud Killer B for its fitment to appease the TMIC crowd! Spoolinator Kit Criticisms: Add 2 inches to the vertical aspect to the DP and it would fit my AWIC setup perfect. I will try to post results of 2nd, 3rd, 4th gear results of boost from a low RPM. Also, that Killer B DownPipe is sexy as hell! The pictures are not justice--Killer B |

I thought their turbo came with some machining done to the compressor cover to make it fit without a bunch of grinding? Doesn't seem to be a lot of people running this kit. Hard to find any recent results of this setup. |

Looks like TeddyK is also running the compressor cover pointed up, which might have more interference since the volute is fatter where it's now nearest the block. There are a handful of street guys running them, but mostly track guys from what I can tell. We don't sell a ton of them, but 4-5 per month means they are going somewhere. |

![]() E-mail I just got this morning...
Hi Chris! It's been along time coming, and I appreciate your patience. Our 2.1L ej205 with the holy header and spoolinator turbo Kit was finally dynoed today. We are only running 20psi, to give us some cushions for compliance with the rules in our series. As you also recall, the car has a turbo inlet restrictor, per the series rules. The car made 400+wtq, and 320whp on only 20psi at peak torque, and tapering to less than 1 bar up top due to the turbo inlet restrictor. We're thrilled with the performance, and couldn't be happier with the header/turbo kit, and oiling products. We'll be documenting further online, after our race this weekend. These are the best numbers I've ever seen on a car in our class. Cheers, Reid ![]() |

Ok guys I would really like to make more wheel torque on this build. will id2000s and a flex fuel kit and another jr tune get me over into the mid fours? The car has every bolt on as well. |

![]() Very true, and typical of rally car setups. Here's the plot. Keep in mind this is with running an inlet restrictor per class rules and the torque/hp values are not the same going up the side of the plot (making it look flatter).

![]() .82 a/r, I'm not really sure as Jr's opinion but the shop told me the top mount and injectors were my limiting factors. I'm planning on keeping the process west top mount to keep the car looking stock. Maybe a ets top mount? I have the stock bypass valve as well, I'm not sure if that is limiting? The car has plenty of power up top but looking to get some low end torque!

![]() Id say the GrimmSpeed tmic would be your best bet. Theres a thread floating around that compares it to the ets with a IAT sensor post core..
Id think a set of ID1300x or ID1700x injectors would be enough and maintain better idle etc then the ID2000cc. Especially with pump gas. Im not saying you cant get to idle well with the 2000's, The other options may do better though. Man Ive really been waiting for one of these kits with a 3576r to put down the sauce... |

TMIC and injectors should have that pronounced of an effect on spool. Depending on what boost level you're running the OEM BPV may be struggling to stay closed? I've never run an OEM one at those power levels. I've never used a PW TMIC. I can say my ETS unit gets really hot. For occasionally street flogging fine, but dyno pulls saw post intercooler temps hit the mid 170s. Quote:
We are using ID1300, and I really like them. Idles perfect and no issues. We run ID2000 on our bigger power setup and it idles good, not great, with a higher idle and cams. Quote:

![]() Yes, the BPV. I was going to mention it could be cracking open during boost onset. A nice TurboSmart Kompact BPV should do the trick.
