Anyone looking for one around the New England area? I ordered one from Patriots Subaru from Saco. White w/ Recaro package, but I found a much better deal in Massachusetts in February. Just thought I would share!

I got mine from Patriot as well and I also saw that same deal in Mass.
They were gonna low ball the hell outta your trade so I went with Patriot.
They got fairly close and I am happy with the deal.

Any body from California get a loyalty coupon recently. I just called 1800-SUBARU3 and they said they couldn’t issue a loyalty coupon in the state of California...

That's what Patriots Subaru said also but surprisingly they didn't! I was surprised that Patriots didn't work out a deal with me since I was a returning customer. But it's ok

How old is your Subaru? If its the 2005 it may be too old a car in their eyes to be loyal to you.

I've seen a few posts from people that were told that they couldn't get one because their cars were over 5 years old.. not sure if that's accurate.

Placed my order January 19th and it finally arrived May 20th. Definitely worth the wait! https://i.imgur.com/HPQ7bWX.jpg

Ordered my STI mid March and picked it up 8 weeks later. Subaru updated me when it was out of the factory, when it was loaded onto a train, and when it was loaded onto a truck.

Dealer was able to modify an existing order already in the pipeline to reduce the overall time.

not a bad wait at all...
this has been discussed by others, but were you able to agree on a price at the time of order or did you negotiate once the car arrived at the dealer?

I actually went through the Costo Auto buying program. All together it took about $5000 off of MSRP. They didn't want to go over the price until it arrived.

I negotiated both my trade in value and purchase price of the car at the time of order. It worked out in my favor too, as my car took about 2 months more than expected to arrive. Got the over-allowance of the century for my 19 WRX with 15k miles on it. Once the car arrived, I just signed paperwork and drove home with the car, smiling like an idiot.

interesting. I've heard a few people talk about the Costco program and how much they like it.

I would just be worried if I don't have a price negotiated up front emotions would get the best of me if they didn't get to a price I wanted and I would just fold knowing this is the exact car I want.

Thanks!

Would someone mind sharing with me how much of a discount off list or invoice I should be aiming for if I were to order a 19 based on what others are getting? I was hoping for 4-5k off list but it would be good to know if that's too optimistic or I could do better. Any feedback is appreciated.

You need to base your judgment by your local area, not what others can get in different states.
Your area and dealer has a huge impact on the price you get. I could consider a killer deal here at invoice price because the cars usually go MSRP. If you have multiple dealers in your area, I recommend stopping by all.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm in the Denver area and although all Subarus are very popular here there's also a lot of competition so under MSRP shouldn't be hard. I'm also not opposed to working with an out of state dealer and having it delivered so it would be good to know what other parts of the country are like.

I also live in Denver. According to KBB between 3 and 5K below MSRP is a fair market price depending on options selected.

I was willing to drive to another state to purchase my car too. There were zero black STIs within 5 surrounding states. So I placed an order and negotiated a deal that I was happy with.

Been shopping, but a rough estimate would be about $2500 off a base model, $3000 off base w/ 03 package and $4000 off a limited model. Not every dealer wants to play ball, some cater to price shoppers, others cater to repeat customers or people who want a car same day. Also the amount of options installed gives the dealer the ability to sell to you with the options at their cost so it can seem like a better deal on a optioned out car than stripped down model.

The STI will sell, but generally if you order one the dealer will give you a better deal typically than the one on the floor(not everyone's experience but generally speaking yes). Dealer can have your business ordering a vehicle without have to allocate it, and you wait 2 months to pick it up, win win for both parties.

Also if you own a somewhat modern Subaru there are minor incentives there to sweeten the deal. Don't bother shopping out of state as the delivery charge around the country is within a couple hundred dollars and usually the same in your region. You'll need to get there and drive it home; is it worth the airfare, gas, hotel wear and tear on new car to save a couple hundred. Just reach out heuberger Subaru they still have alright pricing.

Thanks for that info. I didn't even know that info was available.

Thanks for the reply. I'm glad my assumptions on where I should be were close to reality and at this point, it doesn't look like there's a deal out of state that'll be worth it. My wife actually just bought an Impreza Sport yesterday so that should be worth something.
