I will say, the posts by the OP are well thought out, and dont seem to be slanderous in any way. I dont know anything about ECS, but I sincerely hope they make it right for them. 18 grand is an awful lot for a swapped car, that I would have set fire to after the first or second issue.

For clarrification:

The cost in replacing parts that were bad ultimately brought the condition of the car to better than promised. These parts are new except for the suspension. While many of these are wear items, we didn't expect to have to replace them so soon if everything was in "very good condition" as described at the time of initial inquiry.

I am undergoing issues with ECS as well and I will wait until all legal actions are finished before I post my ongoing situation. I am sorry to hear about all the problems you have had psyber-Optix

I cant wait to see how this turns out. This would be a huge hit to the ECS name in the Subie community. I hope that they make things right and refund their customers money.

This thread is getting a lot more chatter on RS25. We are not expecting anything from ECS but just wanting to share our experience so no one makes the mistakes we had to endure.

As I read this thread and another thread on the RS forum I start to wonder. I am looking to have ECS do my 105k timing belt job. I understand there have been a few people with engine swaps that have not gone smooth. As far as regular mantinance how do you guys think ECS does? I mean I am not having an engine swap but I still question the shop after reading this thread. I understand there are two sides to every story also. Has anyone on here had their timing belt job done by them?

Just get documentation for everything. This sounds obvious and silly, but it would have saved us quite a bit of heartache and sleepless nights.

Based on my experience:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...2&postcount=26

I strongly believe they can handle the job, without a doubt.

My review:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...2&postcount=26

Paul tuned my car and I haven't had any issues. He showed me every graph and explained in full detail what everything was, even going the distance comparing my tune to stage 2 tunes and time attack tunes to show the differences and help me understand more clearly.

I was sold my EWG with what was thought to be a 14lb spring, turns out it was a 7lb. Since then I've added a new spring and will be going back for a final tune and I'll follow up further.

Hey thanks for the response man, when I stopped in and met Paul he seemed very ethical and thorough with his work. Just what I was looking for...so I will be getting tuned there after my engine break in.

I will not go into details about my situation because it will last a while, but here is the run down:
- They are good at tuning, and the machanics do know their stuff, and I think Paul is genuinely a good guy. But got too a head of him self with his company, and has too much going on so fogets a lot.

- Aside from that, they are a complete nightmare and are not professional. here is some examples of what I had to go through:
- They like to show up when they feel like it, usually will roll in around 9 or so, then goof off for a while before starting. Close early, or will leave early if there is something going on. So their work ethic reflects on their age.

- Good luck getting your car back ANYTIME around when they say. So plan on inconveniencing everyone you know for a ride constantly. 1 week turns into months.
- I went to them beacuse of their originally outstanding reputation. I was mistakenly wrong... Almost $16,000 later. Orinial quote for swap was around $8,000.
- What ever you do, do a COMPLETE inspection of the car, other wise anything that happens is your fault, or they will replace it with junk/old parts. You will most likely need to get a new radiator after any work is done, and they foget a lot, like forgetting to cut the hose shorter so your car will leak antifreeze as soon as the pully cuts through it, and you getting stranded on the road. After their work I had my car towed at least 4 times, I gave up on them and had to get rid of everything to return my car back to stock..... I was very patient with them and understanding, but in the end I was just stupid to have let it gone that far.

Poster, please PM me, as I am not certain who you are. We have not done a swap of the magnitude you speak of in over a year. As for coming in at 9 and leaving early. We open at 9 and someone is always there before 8:45 to open up shop, we NEVER leave early. Our hours are 9-6 but for the most part someone is always there until at least 7.

I'm wracking my brain trying to think of whom this could be, who had a coolant hose burst on them and had to have the car towed. But still we have not done a Swap this large in a LONG time. Since your join date is August of this year, I'm even more stumped.

I'd really like to know more about this situation.

Thanks,

-Paul

Why am I not surprised to see your name in this thread. I never had a negative review anywhere until you, now its like you make it your business to find any thread in mention of ECS and drop in your 2 cents.

Thanks for stopping in and giving me a chance to show you what I am really about. Its far to easy for a few sour people to make a few mishaps seem like many exist, using internet trickery.

I apologize I created a thread and it got merged into this one. Because it was merged, I am still listed as subscribed for thread notifications so it comes up on my userCP. Don't be full of yourself thinking that i'm out looking for these threads. It came up because someone responded.

grow up

Default Free bump for these

I got the chance to go to this shop last month and meet Paul, Ryan, Christian and the other guys there. I think these guys are honest guys and people should look at all of the positives instead of all the negatives. I have never had them do any major work so I can not comment on that side however I did have a set of wheels mounted and balanced by Ryan (done right, good job). Overall they do their best to try and make everyone happy. You cant win them all and or make everyone happy.

just my .02 cents

Default Thinking of going to ECS...

Thinking of going to ECS...2.0t -> STi 2.5 swap or hybrid. Labor rates are posted on the website http://conversions.eastcoastswappers.com but not parts (STi shortblock or whatnot).

Any idea on cost.

Any advice on using these guys?

Thanks!
