Obviously not at the port. I'm getting really frustrated because I think usually from port to dealer takes about 4 weeks ?? So I'm looking at end of March even if it comes to port at by next week.

Order : 1/02/2012
VON: Never received
VIN: No
SDC Order #: Received after calling the dealer. NNJ and NY dealers go through SDC.
ETA: ????
Ramsey Subaru NJ
WRX SWP base hatch

12/23/11: Ordered WRX WRB Limited Hatch from Ramsey
02/08/12: SOA had no ETA
02/16/12: Ramsey had no ETA, "sorry maybe March"
02/21/12: Got a call that the car was in.

I had my 2012 SWP WRX Hatch ordered on 2/2/12. Should arrive on 3/13/12. I was told in the beginning it might take until early April. Getting the call yesterday about the 13th was a relief!

I feel as if I may be one of the few that did not have to put down a deposit?

In fact, I was able to order my WRX over the phone without stepping foot in the dealership. Well, not since my failed attempt last year at snagging a SWP 2011 hatch.

If all goes well, I should be getting it next week. I ordered some accessories so my take is that the dealership will still have to install them. So far I'm on week 8, things are looking good

I'll keep you guys posted.
UPDATE!
My car arrived earlier than the ETA of 2/23, and arrived on 2/20. I went over to the dealership today to pick it up because I've been tied up all week, and let me tell you it was a long week for me

TOTAL WAIT - 7 weeks for delivery, 8 weeks for actual pickup of car

Obligatory photos from iphone, lol

Met up with one of my buddies this evening and took a quick rival photo

Your story gives me hope! I ordered 12/26, and I'm in Rhode Island. So, maybe I'll be receiving a surprise phone call.

Also, what is the average mile on the odometer when you pick up your car? 6? 8? 10?

Mine had 11 when I drive off the lot. 4 when it came off the truck.

no sir, you have every damn reason to be mad!!! and this ordering system is a joke!!! btw, it's hard for me to be anything but patient when there's nothing i can do.

hope you get some good news soon![/quote]

Thanks..guys...I have to get the steam out regarding SOA and Dealers with minimal information about the ordering system..

I 100% agree that ordering system is a joke. Here is how it goes to tell you how dealers are completely uninformed and SOA is pretty screwed up too.

I called SOA 4 weeks ago, person 'A' says.."you only have SDC order number, I'll contact your dealer for one more piece info. to check the status of your order....I said OK..please update me with an e-mail..OK.."

(I was never given the SDC order number until I called and asked for VON...)

After 1 week called SOA: "Person A is handling your case, he/she will call you"

After 2 weeks, Called SOA again...Person B says, "let me look at the history of your case..We left message to the dealer but dealer never got back.."(So SOA you don't follow up..??? that is it..?..two weeks..? you are still waiting for dealer to get back to you?)
I asked them, please can you follow up...

OK..I e-mailed my salesman ...he says .."No news yet but I think Subaru is working on it, because they contacted me asking about your order... (I was thinking...Yeah because I contacted them...asking about my order, you idiot...you have no idea what is going on..do you..?)

I give up: you win...SOA and the dealer

Were you pissed, or is that normal?

Is there a point when you can be pissed at the dealer because you suspect someone has been joyriding in your car?

I had the same situation, but that's because they had me test drive it before the final signature

I was a little surprised there were so many miles put on for the pdi but I wasn't too worried. The mechanic that drove it was an older guy and then my salesman took it to fill it with gas and another test drive. He didn't let the detail boys drive it. I've put 200 miles on it in two days so all in all 11 isn't too bad.

Default Email Updates?

I have a question for you guys... Do you get order status updates via email from SOA? The only reason I got my VON is because I asked for it from the dealer a week after I ordered.

It would be nice to get automated updates so I don't have to pester the dealer every week.

Some people get updates from SoA, most others have to contact them for more information after they receive their VON.

The dealer can't really do much for you. If you want to try to get more information, try getting someone in SoA's customer service to open a case for you. I got tired of waiting on hold for 20 minutes every time I called, so I emailed and had one customer service rep assigned to my case.

Still don't get much information, but you have a contact inside SoA that you don't have to explain your situation to every time you contact them.

The quicker you accept the fact that you're not going to know anything until the car arrives at the dealership the better.

On my pipeline report, I have the following items:

Estimated Arrival
Schedule Date
Release Date
Rail Ship Date
Truck Ship Date
Draft Date
Delivery Date

I would think that these are linked to the supply chain system, and that automatic emails can be sent when there is an update. Is this what some people are receiving?

I have no problems with waiting in the dark. I won't be concerned until May rolls around. But if getting these emails is a simple email correction/addition, I would like to know. I have to drive 2.5 hours to get my car, and even 2 weeks notice would be advantageous.

I will call SOA tomorrow and see what they have to say.

tmfing, it looks like your region's supply chain organization is different from mine.

Unfortunately you won't know anything for sure until the dealer calls and says it was delivered. Kinda sucks you have to drive the 2.5 hours to get it but there is no way around it note a way to plan anything. My car came nine days after the eta. Like oxtox and others have said, expect the unexpected. The ordering system sucks. Nothing we can do about it. The only email I got from SOA was the thank you for ordering email. In which it said I would get future emails with updates however I never got anything. Sure there is a way for automatic email updates I just dont think it's working.

Tmfing, I agree. Have the subaru logo and it say expect the unexpected. Haha
