![]() Hey all, I'm looking for spot cleaning (e.g. bird droppings, bugs) product recommendations. I just bought a new car after 13 years, and there are a slew of new products on the market now! I've always used Meguiar's Quik Detailer, but figured there's probably a more appropriate option these days. The Quik Detailer seems more tailored for supplying wax than it is for cleaning.
What I'd really like is a concentrate that can be safely diluted in a spray bottle, which is kept in the (hot) trunk with a clean microfiber rag. I am parking out in the open for the time being, so I tend to wake up to at least something on the paint each day. I plan on washing at least twice a month, but it only takes a few days for spot cleaning to become a necessity. Thanks!

![]() Koch Chemie MEHRZWECKREINIGER (Universal Cleaner)
Fast acting alkaline product with a fresh scent. Easily, quickly and effectively removes impurities of various origins from fabrics, leather, plastic surfaces. The composition contains additives that stabilize the action of alkalis on the surface. These additives prevent fading and stretching of fabrics and skin. Great cleaner! For me, this is the best way to clean the interior. Nice smell, instantly removes dirt, in the right proportion, safe for surfaces. |

![]() You'll want to use polymer based quick detailer sprays if you're going to use it in the sun. Otherwise carnauba based can stain the finish (spots) as it would dry too fast.
Off the shelf I use this.. works great for bird crap removal. Meguiar's G14422 Ultimate Quik Detailer - 22 oz. Premium Spray Detailer For online purchases I use Prima Hydro. I just buy by the gallons https://primacarcare.com/product/pri...-detail-spray/ I also use their HydroMax as my primary sealant. Works EXCELLENT and super easy to apply over paint, glass, seals, plastic. Then for my hobby cars I use the traditional Griot's SpeedShine (carnauba) over HydroMax. I rarely wash my hobby cars with water. |

![]() Thanks a lot! I am currently using that Meguiar's, but it is often directly in the sun. I only use it for tiny spots, and make sure to immediately wipe it in & buff it off as I spray it. FWIW, I'm using Meguiar's NXT 2.0 Tech wax, which does have some smaller carnauba content. I'll give the Prima product a shot when this bottle starts running low.

![]() Optimum No Rinse (ONR) works just fine for spot cleaning and doubles as a rinseless car washing solution.
