Talking Kartboy Knuckleball Installed!

I ordered this midweek, when I found the thread for naming it. I got it today and installed it.

Mmm, feels good! So smooth and silky in the hand I can’t leave it alone I keep fondling it! Need… to… get… hand… back… on… wheel!

Lowers the height of the shifter somewhat. With the KB short shifter it’s really short.

The install was simple and for the most part it was fast. Felt like I was tightening for days before it stopped.

I did make the mistake of attaching the boot before tightening it and chose to hold the boot rather than remove it while I twisted. I figured it would only take a few turns, but instead it took a lot more. In hindsight it would have been easier to leave the boot off while tightening and attach it after.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who can't stop caressing the knucleball... Feels great.

Was cold this morning, and the big chunk-o'-aluminum IS a major heatsink, but that's a small matter.

Love the fact that its a little shorter than stock. Love the fact that it fits my small hands. Love the fact that it looks so DAMN SEXY in my car!

Cheers to the Kartboy Krew! Another winner.

Thumbs up

Put mine on yesterday. I'm waiting to put the sticker on until I'm sure it's cranked all the way (it hasn't shown any signs of movement yet). I think the theory is that once they warm up, they may turn a smidgen more? That could require a wait until spring, 'cause like Herbie's, mine was cold

Looks and feels fine!

Unhappy

hmm, sorry I don't have any way to download my pic's right now.

I loaned my card reader to a friend for his trip to Germany. He left Monday and will be gone for a month!

Smile Pictures!

Seems I was able to find a way to download pictures. Yay!

I tried to get a couple of different perspectives. I like the way it matches the WRX pedals.

The pictures are not great. I didn't focus the camera on the knob. That, along with the flash made it come out a little odd.

Here goes:

Just installed mine. Here are some of the benifits: more HP, better throttle response, louder BOV, less body roll in the corners, brighter headlights, and my thinning hair has reversed itself.
Great Product!

Is that a baby blue or does the flash make it seem that way?

Post

think it’s the flash.

If you look at my silver balls, the angle of the shot makes the blue appear a little darker. The black balls have a washed out look to the color from the angle of the shot and the flash.

(Tom, you gonna make blue balls)?

I am not looking at it now, so this is just my ramblings late in the evening.

No more need for brass balls, we have anodized aluminum!

He actually had blue balls on the short shifter for a little while before they went to the machined balls

Smile Blue sticker

None of the above pictures do the blue sticker justice. I looked at it closely today. It’s a nice bright, but deep blue. It seems to me to be similar in color to the WRB 02 WRX. I think it’s a good color.

Actually, go to the Kartboy web site. The new home page is very close to the same color: http://www.kartboy.com/

Elite421,

Hey, nice black leather boot with blue stitching. Wherever could that have come from....?

I'll hopefully be getting a Knuckleball one of these days. Silver with a red sticker, most likely.

Does kartboy only offer the sticker in blue and red? I think it would look a little odd in an all-black interior.

Maybe silver or black sticker. Hell, maybe one can be custom made with a Subaru, "I", STI, or even a WRC logo (thats cheaper than the titanuim STI one.
