Honestly, I'm not a expert on head units but, if i were you, I'd look at reviews online and go from there. I like my head unit but i think some things can be improved on it. If i had a subaru nav unit already, I'd just keep it. I never owned one but I'm sure it can't be that bad. Plus you paid a good amount for it so enjoy it.

I have the same one and love it. Pioneer AVIC x940bt - although I didn't have the factory nav to compare it to... Sound quality alone makes it worth it, IMO.

I'd first say get a tint done, I love how our cars looks with blacked out windows.
Then purchase a front lip, and an Accessport, Flash Stage 1, and your summer will be much more enjoyable.

Well I have Cobb ap, invidia DP, cp pistons, tomei headers, nameless muffler deletes. But I definitely want tint and a lip kit. Any recommendations for rims?

Picture thread broski, check out the general forums for first mods or exterior appearance for wheels and other things like front lips.

Have you ever used the app mode? It's probably the stupidest thing I've ever seen. Btw, I don't think it's compatible bc the latest iOS software made the whole interface change on the pioneer radios.

Don't let app app mode be the determining factor! It's a great headunit with or without it.

I have the headunit with a 4s but the newer software. As long as you get the nav version you can still see the song that's playing and watch videos and what not.

Thanks Januch09..
I just want full control of all songs, albums, podcast on head unit not on phone when I'm driving. I thought the app mode was the part that let you do this. Currently with factory head unit via bluetooth I have minimal control and have to use phone to change those things..I'm just looking for clarification before I buy the thing..

Does Pioneer make an adapter so you can still use the steering wheel controls?

You'll be very happy with the pioneer products. Make sure you get a nav version bc there's no update on the non-nav version that allows to see song, etc on the interface while it's playing. Np

No, but Axxess and PAC both make modules that are compatible with the Subaru steering wheel controls and the Pioneer SWC input jack.

My Canadian 2012 STi actually comes with a Pioneer head unit (X9310BT, same as X930BT) and an OEM version of the PAC SWI (no user-accessible programming, it's just hard-coded to Subaru).

The wheels go well with it and I like that they made the side badge black.
