![]() In another installment of appropriate user name.
We rented a SxS in Moab and at a point it started making a rattling noise, then the brakes felt weird. Then the brakes would go to the floor and I had to pump them. We were about half way through a trail and decided to turn around and limp it back. Made it 100 yards then this happened. The axle completely sheared. So my wife got a ride into town and came back with our truck and the shop came with a trailer. Post mortem analysis was the brake pad separated from the backing plate wedge and locked the wheel. Sheared the axle nut clean off then the the axle sheared when it kept trying to turn. Fortunately since this was not my fault no extra out of pocket for repairs. But still sucked being stuck on the side of a trail for 2 hours. ![]() ![]() |

![]() Apartment building has shared paid washers and dryers. That ain't the gripe.
They used to be coin only. A while back they added the ability to connect via Bluetooth and pay with a phone. That ain't a gripe. When you start the washer it'll display the time remaining. That time remaining is a lie. 45 minutes is anywhere between 42 minutes and 55 minutes. That's gripe one. The app used to pay doesn't have a timer. It does notify you when the wash/dry is done. Actually that's not totally true...it tends to notify you an hour after it's done. Sometimes it waits a couple days. That's gripe two. |

![]() I'm using something similar. Sometimes the app notifies me, sometimes it doesn't. I'm thinking it's more likely phone behavior as it tries to prevent excessive notifications or put apps to sleep or something.
For washers...I've seen that on lots of different machines. Cycle times tend to vary but you'd figure with a "dumb" commercial machine it should be fair consistent. |
