Default transmission compatability question

i need to know if a 1995 wrx transmission will work a 02wrx. is the diff compatable? i know there are four holes/studs on the old transmission and eight on the new but will they mate??? thanks in advance.

The center gear reduction will more then likely be different then the USDM 02+ WRX's, and not have the 1:1.1 stepper. So you will need to find a rear diff with the appropriate final drive ratio to match whatever the 1995 transmission had.

does it have a dccd?
if yes-all the ver.4 with dccd I-I-I have delt with have been 4.44.
it will bolt-up to the 02 engine and do just fine.
before installing trans put a 10x1.25 helicol in hole where the lower starter bolt goes-then use a short bolt on the bottom to hold the starter in place.

its just a regular wrx trans. my main question is if anyone knows what the final drive on the jdm trans is???
