That's cool man... I can tell you it's a Python Responder LE (872)
and it will be Armageddon when it goes off... I also still need to get my stickers that say "Protected by Satan" yet too..

Aaron, get yourself a GOOD battery charger. If you do half the **** with your alarm that I did with mine it will kill your battery completely inside of 8 days. Yes...8 days.

I've done probably 3-4 subies with identical setups as yours, (sans the backup battery) and no battery draining issues. When we pull it apart again for the new system we can hunt down the culprit. |

Cool. Hoping late April. Not too hot, not too cold, just right on the weather. You know we'll get a snow storm that day right?

I am interested to see how loud it will be and how long I will have to spend tuning for the new sub which I will be sending twice as much power to than I was the Memphis HPO. -Rene |

Yeah make for needing much less sub than the sedan guys, unless of course someone takes your approach and fires the sub directly into the cabin.
In my RS I had attempted to build a box for my two HPOs to fire into the cabin and after three boxes I had come to the conclusion that the HPOs sound like garbage when directed at you. |

this is crazy! i'm slowly trying to figure out which products to use in my car. been into car audio for over 8 years, won several competitions. my loudest car so far has been 151.0 decibels, all daily drivers. BUT, i have NEVER used any deadening material!!!
Aaron I would love to get your input, seeing as how you've probably researched almost every type of deadening out there. I'm not worried about the road noise so much as just rattling from adding 2 12" Resonant Engineering SE series subs. Perhaps you could give me some advice through PM's to avoid all the riff-raff (sp?). I am hoping to not have to do more than 2 layers anywhere. Preferably just heavy material to stop vibrating. |

You should never have to do more than one layer (unless you're running a cheaper mat in which case doubling up is helpful). Right tool for the job

that's what i'm hoping! my main goal is getting rid of panel flex, which should go hand-in-hand with reducing panel vibration. other than that, road/wind noise doesn't bother me enough to go to any greater lengths/expenses.
in lieu of creating a new thread for myself, if you have any specific recommendations on product(s) to accomplish this, please let me know here or PM me i assume i will be using some form of Butyl product mixed with some expanding foam in wheel wells/etc. |

Geez Aaron...keep forgetting about this thread but it is a welcome sight!
I started deadening my cargo area this last weekend and tried to kind of do it like all of you guys...I freakin' ran out after only the left-side of the floor. |

Well, you are always better off with one layer everywhere, then multi-layers in some places..
But thanks bro... I've got a whole other round of deadening yet to do... I've got Second Skin Luxury Liner Pro to lay down, some SS Sludge to apply to the wheel wells, and then various foams and carpet padding applications to apply over/under all of that.. I've got some dense "memory" type foam that is about 1.5" thick, it's going to fill all of the voids left in the car.. then the LLP over top.. places like under the dash will get carpet padding stuffed into all of the nooks and crannies.. Much still to do.. lol.. Last edited by Aaron'z 2.5RS; 05-30-2009 at 01:06 AM. |

Gawd. I want to do this sound deadening **** too.
Would you say it's worth it to DIY? I might just strip my interior, take it to a shop, and let them handle it. |

My only wish was that Sound Deadening was cheaper...aren't most of the asphalt ones just asphalt as a sheet/sticker?
